Ed Leigh Career

Broadcasting career

Ed Leigh is a member of the BBC2 show Ski Sunday's presenting team and regularly works with Red Bull TV on a number of live events, from skateboarding and BMX to Enduro and mountain biking. He also worked with Whisper Films as the live anchor for Sail GP's first two seasons of international coverage.

Probably best known as the BBC's voice of action and adventure sports at the Olympics. Since 2006, Leigh has weighed in on the winter games and the summer games since 2012.

Leigh's first regular work on Channel 4's award-winning series Freesports On 4 in the United States, he reports live sports events around the world. Leigh has built up a diverse body of work, from Ed vs. Spencer on Sky 1 to My Life As An Animal for BBC3.

Leigh's television career began as editor of Whitelines Snowboard Magazine, and together with Christian Stevenson, they appeared on Turners CNX channel CNX.

He was on the road for the 4th time as a hitch hiker/presenter for 2005 and Gumball 2006: Around the world in 8 days after being in charge of the Extreme Sports Channel's Gumball 3000 series in 2004.

After his participation in the 2006 Winter Olympics, Leigh's co-presenter of Graham Bell's BBC Ski Sunday series brought snowboarding to life, he brought the snowboarding to life: his memorable exclamation "Drama!"

Jacobellis is down!"

At the comedic climax of the Women's Snowcross Final, he made his name. Leigh has provided an update on snowboarding at the recent Winter Olympics.

On BBC2, Leigh Leigh hosted a spin show from Ski Sunday, High Altitude, which ran for the winter of 2009, with Graham Bell.

During the 2012 Summer Olympics, Ed Murray reported on Beach Volleyball for the BBC, as well as the BMX event in the cycling.

Professional career

Leigh's resume included professional snowboarding, journalism, event planning, de-watering mega yachts, and windsurf instruction prior to his television work. However, he centered his efforts on Laughing Gear, a London empiricism, and cabaret group, with friend Christian Stevenson.

Leigh began snowboarding in a Chalford-based snowboard store, Noahs Ark. After five years snowboarding in Val d'Isère, a knee injury forced him to miss a season and take up a job as a teaboy at the White Lines snowboarding magazine, which he had been contributing to on a freelance basis. He was editor of the newspaper six months after it was launched, which opened the door to new media opportunities.
