Burton was the husband of actor Carroll Baker.

Personal life

Burton was Carroll Baker's third and last husband. They married on March 10, 1982, and at that time, Burton's widowdom was still married. They met while on tour with the Play Motive.

Life and career

Donald was born in Norwich, England, on February tenth. On a grant, he attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. He worked as an Associate Artist with the Royal Shakespeare Company for many years. He appeared in such well-known Shakespeare plays as The Wars of the Roses and Henry IV, Part 1 and 2. In the entire string of the 8 Shakespeare'History' plays that were performed in the United States, he played the Duke of Exeter. In 1964, the first world War II was declared in 1964. In 1965, he appeared in the critically acclaimed RSC production of Gogol's The Government Inspector, starring Paul Scofield, Eric Porter, Paul Rogers, Stanley Lebor, Bruce Condell, and other outstanding Shakespearian actors of the period.

Burton's television appearances included Big Breadwinner Hog, Warship, The Duchess of Duke Street; The Doombolt Chase; Upstairs, Downstairs, Public Eye, Minder (Gunfight at the O.K.). Laundrette) and the Fraud Squad. How the Other Half Loves and Educating Rita were two of his more recent theatre roles. He may have made a name for himself among the British public as Commander Mark Nialls, the pilot of the fictional HMS Hercule in the BBC television drama Warship.

Burton appeared in The Merchant of Venice's production in 1990 at the 46th Street Theatre in New York.

Carroll Baker, a Burton actor, married actress Carroll Baker on March 10, 1978. The couple were married for 29 years before her death in December 2007. Donald Burton has three children, Rachel Larkin, Sarah Burton, and Kerri Davenport Burton.

On December 8, 2007, Donald Burton died of emphysema at his home in Cathedral City, California. He was 73 years old at the time.
