Since its first episode in 2011, the crime comedy drama has been a regular fixture on British television screens. On Sunday, Death In Paradise will be back for a 13th series, as well as its 100th episode. The crew will reunite on the idyllic Caribbean island of Saint Marie and will be faced with more intriguing murders to solve. However, as detectives have been replaced on the island over the years, so have several of the other original characters. Jose Ortega said he was refused to pick up his 10-year-old step-daughter because he is gay and not a blood relative. Ortega and his partner Don Williams have a daughter together. Williams' daughter is from his first marriage, and his ex-wife encouraged her to attend private school. The couple described themselves as endangered during a private gathering. Williams said a school employee would not have known the child had gay dads, she might not have been eligible for enrollment.
