Penn Badgley's character was not the only one derered by the number of sex scenes required for his "You" role. Jameela Jamil revealed in a recent episode of "Podcrushed" that she did not apply for a role on the Netflix hit for this very reason. "I don't do sex scenes," Jamil told hosts Nava Kavelin, Sophie Ansari, and Badgley. "My character was supposed to be sexy, but I had to cancel because I am so afraid of anything sexy that I can't handle."

Jonathan Moore — or rather, Joe Goldberg — has a grip on "You" viewers in the same way that he has a grip on his victims. And though fans of the hit Netflix series may have fallen back into his charming ways after finishing part two of season four, actor Penn Badgley has hinted that there may yet to be a fifth and final season of the show. "I know what Greg [Berlanti, one of the series's showrunners] pitched me a few years ago as what he felt was the right way to end." I think there will be another one, it will be a grand finale," he says as he appears on the front page. He claims he's "not positive" how he'll feel leaving behind the character he's embodied since 2017, revealing that if there's another instalment of the series will be a dramatic one at that.

Penn Badgley is reflecting on his time on "Gossip Girl," during which he notably dated costar Blake Lively. The "You" actor discussed his rise to fame after the show aired in 2007, as well as his subsequent relationship with Lively in an interview published on February 15, 2009. "I don't think anybody was going to be interested in me publicly," he wrote in the magazine, though he said his life changed like "night and day" after the series premiered. "I think the date was September 19, 2007," says the author. Badgley and Lively's on-screen romance began in 2007, and the two had an on-and-off relationship before ending for good in 2010.

In "You," Penn Badgley demanded that there be fewer sex scenes

On "You," Penn Badgley plays a character who appears all too often in a slew of graphic, bloody scenarios. Joe's character has a problem with self-restraint when it comes to killing people, as loathing as he is to admit it — and it turns out that Joe's adventures are just a little too much for even Badgley himself. In a 9 Feb. interview with Seth Meyers, "I'm not precious about it" — about my procedure in any way — but there have been a few times when I've spontaneously become nauseous." He recalled that after he was forced to finish a particularly violent unfinished scene for season four, he had a visceral reaction.

Short dating History of Penn Badgley includes Blake Lively and Zo Kravitz

Penn Badgley may be best known for his role in some shady TV characters, such as "Gossip Girl"'s Dan Humphrey and "You"'s Joe Goldberg, but he's actually married happily. Badgley, 36, hasn't had too many personal relationships in the public eye, but he did have a few famous celebrities before settling down with his wife, Domino Kirke. Badgley and Kirke welcomed their first child together in September 2020, an event that Badgley claimed made playing Joe on "You" more difficult because of how happy he was in real life. "I was curious what my new fatherhood was, how it would influence my relationship with Joe and acting with him, and yet, it was not helpful because he was having such light and joyful experience — and Joe is so petrified," he said in a 2021 interview with Access.
