The book, Wives Like Us, sees the bored spouses of uber wealthy men 'fight for social supremacy', according to the Times. According to the outlet, the Cotswolds' setting of the novel is 'certainly of the moment', as fascination with the area has increased in recent years. This, it explains, is largely due to the 'stream of rich Londoners [who] started decamping there during Covid'. When staging a Big Brother spin-off, a production company has opened an investigation into allegations surrounding Russell Brand's conduct. Bannijay UK, which produced Big Brother's EFourum and Big Brother's Big Mouth in the early 2000s, said it had 'launched an urgent probe' into the comedian's behaviour during the shows between 2004 and 2006. It comes after former staff members' comments that Brand got them to 'act like pimps' by bringing the number of women in the audience and giving them the presenter's notes. It was part of a larger series of bombshell allegations against the 48-year-old actor, which culminated in multiple women accusing him of violence and sexual harassment, including rape, sexual assault, and emotional abuse between 2006 and 2013.
