Early life
Dinakshie Priyasad was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on March 18th. She is the first of three children for Dinesh Priyasad and Shirani Priyasad. She and her family members are devout Catholics. Dinesh's father is a film producer who pioneered numerous technologies and graphics in Sri Lankan cinema. Gamini Fonseka appears in his 1995 action film Demodara Palama. Dinakshie's mother has produced films directed by her father. Sheshadri Priyasad and Shanudrie Priyasad, two younger sisters who are also actors in Sri Lankan cinema and television, are Dinakshie.
Dinakshie completed her pre-university studies at the Royal Institute International School in the Maths Stream and advanced to the ordinary level in Bambalapitya (O/L) examination. She then joined the Open University of Sri Lanka and is now studying engineering for her Bachelor's degree. At the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, she is also doing her diploma in Media and Mass Communication.
Personal life
Since 2016, she has been dating Saranga Disasekara, a popular Sri Lankan actor. And they got married on August 28th. On the 26th of September 2021, they welcomed their first child.
Career
Despite the fact that Dinakshie made her acting debut in her father's film Apaye Thathpara 84,000 in 1992 as a 2 year old. Wassana Sihinaya's first major acting role came in 2009 in the tele drama version of Upul Shantha Sannasgala's well-known romantic book Wassana Sihinaya. The script was written and directed by Janaka Siriwardana and Kavindya Jayasekara.
Sanda Giri Pawwa, a teledrama set in 2009, featured a teacher in a rural setting. She has said that this was her most challenging role she had ever played as a teacher who went from extreme poverty to excel in life, and the emotional aspects involved were difficult to portray. In addition, filming was carried out in remote rural areas in the Kurunagala district. Hithata Wahal Weemi Sarath Kaviratne's popular picture tale that appeared in the Siththara weekly in the seventies was her next teledrama.
