Diego Domínguez Life

Diego Dominguez (born 25 April 1966 in Córdoba, Argentina) is a former Argentina rugby union fly-half who played for Argentina and Italy, winning 74 caps for the latter. Dominguez toured France with the Argentina national team in 1988, scoring 27 points in two games for Argentina against Chile and Paraguay.

He decided to Italy, his grandmother's homeland, due to the lack of opportunities.

He spent a year in France and then moved to Milan, Italy, after the tour with Argentina. Dominguez made his Italian debut against France in March 1991.

Dominguez competed with the Azzurri in three world cups in 1991, 1995, and 1999.

He is one of only five players (Dan Carter, Jonny Wilkinson, Ronan O'Gara, and Neil Jenkins) to have scored more than 1,000 points in history. He migrated to Stade Français in 1997 and was a member of the French champions' 1998 team.

In 2001, the Heineken Cup was a tournament in the United States, but the Stade lost to Leicester Tigers due to Dominguez's scoring 30 points. He announced his resignation in 2000 but was dissatisfied to return as there was no heir apparent.

On February 22, 2003, he played his last game for Italy against Ireland.
