The new episode, aptly titled The Surprise, was stealthily aired by the ABC on Sunday morning without notice. In order to keep the secret, the national broadcaster went as far as to hide the episode from television listings, telling viewers they could expect a rerun.

An online row has broken out between Bluey fans after the beloved children's show was accused of using profanity. Earlier this week, a member of the Facebook group, Adult Bluey Lovers, posted a screenshot from the website of the Australian-made cartoon and had a problem with some of the language. In a description of a recent episode, a character was described as 'hell-bent' on selling real estate, to which the Facebook user took issue.

Bluey's tear-jerking finale proved to be a massive hit on ABC Kids on Sunday. The special 28-minute episode of the animated children's show reached 2.28million viewers in Australia.   Meanwhile, 787,000 caught up with the show on ABC iview, making it the most-watched entertainment show of the night.
