Adam Silver is said to be on the verge of extending his deal with the NBA that will keep him through his 10th anniversary as commissioner as he works to strike out the league's next media rights agreement. Silver is finalizing an agreement that will keep as commissioner of the NBA for several years. The individual appeared to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because no league announcement was made. Silver's new deal will run 'through the decade,' according to ESPN, which first announced the deal.' It's the second time the league's owners have allowed an extension for Silver, who also had one in June 2018 that had him under control until the end of the NBA playoffs. Silver became commissioner on February 1, 2014, replacing long-serving former Commissioner David Stern - his mentor. Stern had been planning to fire Silver, the long-serving deputy commissioner, for years; the Board of Governors unanimously approved the proposal to have Silver, the long-serving deputy commissioner, take over.

November 4, 2023
The NBA's first day of the in-season tournament is really leaving a lasting impression on the fans, but not one that the league may have wished for. Each squad will compete on a specially constructed court that matches the look of their new Nike 'City Edition' jerseys in an attempt to distinguish from the regular season. The courts took a drastic left turn away from any tradition, opting for bright and bold colors that would have unquestionably evoked some kind of reaction.
