Over 13 million dogs have been released in the United Kingdom, but these obedient animals have demonstrated that there are some situations where they are far from being 'the man's best friend.' After owners Jill and Steve Kirkham, Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, revealed the full cost of their boxer dog's hungry habits, Cooper (top right), eight, was dubbed "Britain's naughtiest dog" in 2020. A bulldog (left) bit his owners to the bone in another instance, but it revealed an underlying health condition. After figuring to mistake an AA battery for a treat in March 2023, a puppy (bottom right) unleashed quite the fear on his owners.

At Notting Hill Carnival on Wednesday, a 72-second silence was held to commemorate the lives of those who were killed in the Grenfell fire tragedy. At 3 p.m., the carnival, which is an annual event that celebrates Caribbean history and is open to all, came to a halt as a result of all those affected by the fire. Despite the fact that the group had done so in 2017 and 2019, it comes as organisers were slammed for failing to schedule such a silence this year. Due to the pandemic, the carnivals in 2020 and 2021 were cancelled. The partygoers had planned to stop dancing, singing, and playing music and joined as a group. However, MailOnline understands that some people were left upset and angry after no silence appeared to be kept within sight of the tower itself. Mayor Sadiq Khan said he would'never forget' the summer of 2017 and the 'awful' tragedy, which he spoke at at the carnival.
