A Ukrainian illustrator who is associated with the Russian Futurism movement and best known for his "Dokhlaya Luna" from 1914 and other works. He was dubbed the father of Russian Futurism.

Before Fame

He studied at the Royal Academy in Munich and the Moscow School of Painting. In 1910, he joined the Jack of Diamonds group and began focusing on poetry after 1911.

Trivia

In the spring of 1915, he published "The Support of the Muses."

Family Life

His ancestry was of Ukrainian Cossack descent. Volodymyr (Wladimir) Burliuk's brother was a well-known artist, and he was a hero. Marussia, his wife, was one of his portrait models.
