According to Unesco, Stonehenge tunnel shouldn't proceed as it warns that if plans go forward, it will lose its status as a World Heritage Site

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 19, 2023
If changes are not made to the National Highways' proposal to build a tunnel on the A303, Stonehenge could lose its status as a Unesco World Heritage Site. In July, the government accepted the plans, which are aimed at tackling a 'traffic bottleneck.' However, Unesco has reported that it may result in the monument being placed on a 'danger list' of world heritage sites vulnerable. Leading members of The Stonehenge Alliance and Save Stonehenge World Heritage Site delivered a petition to the Unesco headquarters in Paris earlier this month. It received 225,000 signatures from 147 countries, urging the government to stop preparing for the road scheme.
