DAVID BOWIE: THE PASSENGER EXHIBITION IN NAPLES “The return of the Thin White Duke...” Following its success in Milan, Andrew Kent’s photographic exhibition, DAVID BOWIE: the PASSENGER, will now launch in Naples next month at Pan Palazzo Delle Arti Naples. Running through to 29th January, go here for more information and ticket links: https://www.mostradavidbowie.it/ (Linktree in bio) We don’t need much encouragement to post a few of Andrew Kent’s iconic Bowie portraits, some of which you can view at the exhibition and all of which you can see in his 2016 book: David Bowie: Behind the Curtain, if Italy isn’t convenient for you. Thanks to our good friend Matteo for the heads up and for the promise of some special surprises at the exhibition. #AndrewKentBowie Posted by @davidbowie on Aug 9, 2022 01:58PM

Today’s #BowieLookingAtMe must be familiar to practically everybody viewing this page. It’s an outtake from the Brian Duffy session for the 1973 album Aladdin Sane. The instantly recognisable album sleeve boasts the image that has become known as the Mona Lisa of pop. Bowie and Duffy collaborated on four other projects: Ziggy Stardust (1972), The Man Who Fell To Earth (1975), Lodger (1979) and Scary Monsters (1980). All the sessions can be viewed in the book Duffy Bowie: Five Sessions. Today’s image features on the cover of that very tome. duffy_archive #BowieLookingAtMe #BowieDuffy Posted by @davidbowie on Aug 8, 2022 05:31PM

“Such is the stuff from where dreams are woven...” Today’s image of Bowie as 'actor' is from the 1981 film, Ulrich Edel’s Christiane F. – Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo. The movie told the true story of the teenage Christiane’s (played by Natja Brunckhorst) battle with drug addiction, a theme that David Bowie felt strongly enough about to give permission for his songs to be used and for him to contribute a cameo appearance, as himself, in a stunning live performance of Station To Station. The soundtrack was a compilation of nine songs selected from three years of Bowie’s recorded works from 1976 to 1979, that included four studio albums: Station To Station, the so called Berlin Trilogy of Low, "Heroes" and Lodger, and the 1978 live album Stage. Despite containing no new recordings, the album quickly became a popular compilation. #FridayBowieFilmFoto #BowieChristianeF Posted by @davidbowie on Aug 5, 2022 09:34PM
