Hardy Brits have braved the rain and high winds to head out for a night on the town to celebrate the new year in style. On the streets of Newcastle and Liverpool, revellers, some dressed to the nines in their finest attire, were seen dancing through the pouring rain in an effort to make the most of New Years Eve festivities. Many people dressed in more appropriate attire for the weather have descended on city and town centers around the country to marvel at stunning light and firework displays. That's despite a forecasters' warning that some events in the south were cancelled due to strong 75mph winds. In true British fashion, major parts of the country are expected to welcome 2024 with a deluge of rain, but many that are out and about to celebrate the occasion will do their best not to let it dampen their spirits.
