According to reports, the highly rated Swede, a key cog in the sprints and relay set-up, has returned to his homeland to be closer to his family. Blomkvist's departure, who was a co-recipient of the year's top-performance coach at the UK Coaching Awards in 2017, is a blow to the UKA ten months out from the Olympics.

On Friday, a celebrity's uncle took a trip down memory lane as he revealed a throwback childhood snapshot of his celebrity niece with her former Junior school. Bishop's Waltham Junior School's headteacher is now using the childhood photograph of one of Britain's best-loved TV stars to inspire pupils as part of a scheme. Darren Campbell hopes that showing the children the celebrity's childhood snaps will inspire them that they will do anything.
