Early years
Danny Rolling was born in Shreveport, Louisiana. James Rolling, a Shreveport police officer, told Danny that he was barred from birth. Danny, Danny's mother Claudia, and his brother Kevin were also punished and beat by James for frivolous activities, such as breathing in a manner that offended him. Danny's mother went to the hospital after her husband allegedly threatened to make her cut herself with a razor blade. She made repeated attempts to divorce her husband but she was always returning shortly. Danny was pinned to the ground and handcuffed, then police took him away because he was embarrassed by him. Danny had a dog, but James would beat the dog so often that it died in Danny's arms.
Rolling was arrested several times in Georgia for robberies and was caught espionage on a woman getting dressed. He had a difficult time as an adult trying to integrate into society and hold down a steady job. Rolling began working as a waiter at Pancho's restaurant in Shreveport at one point.
