After being killed on the A5 near Aughnacloy on Thursday, Dan and Christine McKane's funeral was held today at The Church of The Immaculate Conception in Strabane. Julia McSorley, 75, was also killed in the accident. They were returning from the funeral of a family friend in Corby, Northamptonshire, who died there. One of Mr McKane's daughters and Mrs McKane's sons later read poems they had written for them at the funeral service today. The mourners included Michael D Higgins, the Irish president, and Sinn Fein Stormont chief Michelle O'Neill, who were commended for their presence.
