A mother-of-eight who covered her ex-lover's brother in petrol before setting his new van on fire has been hit with a 10-year restraining order but spared jail. Gemma Peregreen, 37, splashed the jerry can of fuel over Tyronne Webb and his van after he had gone to her flat to collect items belonging to his brother. Newport Crown Court heard Mr Webb's brother had been in a relationship with Peregreen and there was a 'bad feeling' after it ended. Footage of the shocking incident was played to the court after it was filmed by stunned onlookers on February 26. Judge Williams told Peregreen that he believed there was a realistic prospect of rehabilitation and handed her a two year suspended sentence. She was also handed a 10-year restraining order to not contact Mr Webb.

The widow of an inmate who died under mysterious circumstances in an Alabama prison claims her husband was murdered because he was a key informant for the Department of Justice and helped expose the appalling conditions that have led to a federal lawsuit being filed against the state in a case due to go to trial later this year. Lisa Hall's husband Jeffrey, 65, was serving a life sentence at Limestone Correctional Facility, in Harvest, Alabama, when he was suddenly found dead in his cell on March 29. Speaking exclusively to DailyMail.com on Monday she said: 'When I think about it now, Jeff tried to warn me that something like this might happen.' Six weeks after his death, Lisa, 62, is yet to receive an official cause of death, her husband's autopsy report or his death certificate on the grounds that it is the subject of an 'ongoing investigation.'

Since sneaking back to the United Kingdom to see his mother, an international murderer and rapist who had already been deported once before his criminal history was revealed, he was jailed. This week, Lauris Terasas, 30, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for an illegal conviction and will be deported to Lithuania once more. He first arrived in the United Kingdom in 2020 and was originally granted permission to remain for five years after the authorities failed to perform thorough background checks. Terasas had already pleaded guilty, but not sure what they were. His murder, rape, and robbery convictions go back to 2011, when he was imprisoned for ten years in his homeland and released part-way through his term.
