LEEDS 1-2 SOUTHAMPTON - AADAM PATEL AT ELLAND ROAD: As Ipswich Town celebrated their return to the Premier League 200 miles away in East Anglia, a flat Leeds United inside Elland Road were left to wonder what might have been. Going into the penultimate round of fixtures, the Foxes needed to win one of their remaining two matches to go up, while their return could be sealed even sooner if Leeds lost at Queens Park Rangers. Leeds showed both the attacking panache that might deliver them promotion and the vulnerabilities that may yet scupper them in this Championship classic. On Sunday, the Blues were forced to write the wrongs of their Carabao Cup final loss to Liverpool, with the Argentine boss's future at the club in doubt despite their inconsistent results this season. Chelsea was a much-needed victory, but Daniel Farke's side, who suffered their first loss in 12 games, made it difficult for the Blues, with 20-year-old striker Mateo Joseph leading the visitors ahead after only eight minutes.
