Career

Mathura-Jeffree has been a model for 20 years. He has appeared on the catwalk for prestigious fashion houses such as Working Style and Versace, as well as being modelled for numerous international fashion publications. Mathura-Jeffree is now the face of Tourism Australia's "shopping & shows campaign" for New Zealand, despite APN New Zealand's involvement.

At the 2007 Miss World championship in Sanya, China, Mathura-Jeffree was named Special Ambassador representing the New Zealand Asia Pacific Trust, the Miss World franchise holder. He has judged pageants, including the Ellerslie Racecourse Fashion in the Fields competition.

He was the VIP Ambassador for New Zealand Fashion Week from 2011 to 2017, opening the event in 2016. He only wore clothing from Hospice Opportunity Shops in the 2017 case.

By Metro, Mathura-Jeffree was named New Zealand's sexiest man in 2012. Norrie Montgomery, a social media photographer, named New Zealand's Man of the Year in 2012, and has been named New Zealand's Man of the Year.

Mathura-Jeffree was a judge on the Miss South Pacific Beauty Pageant 2013 in the Solomon Islands. In 2017, he was named a REMIX Magazine Icon at their 20-year anniversary Ball, which featured their 20 most popular celebrities in print. He was named as the 'Best Dressed Celebrity 2017' by the public in the METRO Magazine Awards issue.'

Mathura-Jeffree's debut appearance was as the Prince of India in the Xena: Warrior Princess television series (1999), where he portrayed Gabrielle's reincarnation of him into a mighty and handsome warrior willing to sacrifice himself to save his kingdom.

Emma Norman (Odette Yustman) opposite Antonio Sabáto Jr., also included a problem solving scientist in Lifetime Television's Reckless Behavior: Caught on Tape (also called Stolen Life).

On the upcoming New Zealand model reality show Next Top Model, Mathura-Jeffree has served as both a judge and runway mentor. He has appeared on several TV shows, including New Zealand's Hottest Home Baker and The Great NZ Dance Masala. He appeared on two episodes of America's Next Top Model in 2010.

He is also the face of Tourism New Zealand's American advertising campaign.

Mathura-Jeffree was the lead protagonist in the Bollywood film and romantic comedy Love Has No Language opposite Celina Jaitley, Miss India 2001.

During the festival, Doc Edge celebrated excellence and success by presenting the Documentary Film Awards. Both local and international awards were given in various categories. On Wednesday, 24 May at Q Theatre, the 2017 awards night was held as part of the opening night gala in Auckland. Mathura-Jeffree was included on the 2017 jury jury.
