After being killed by one of his own cows, a farmer who appeared on BBC documentary This Farming Life will have his death investigated by a sheriff. Derek Roan (pictured), 71, died in hospital after a horrific event involving livestock at his family's farm in southern Scotland in June last year. Mr Roan, who had been included in the documentary film about farming, died after being attacked by one of his own cows at the farm near Dalbeattie, Dumfries and Galloway, on June 18.
