Cleo Rocos (born 24 July 1962, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) is a UK-based comedy actress, producer, presenter and businesswoman, who starred alongside Kenny Everett on The Kenny Everett Television Show.

Early life

Rocos was born in Brazil. Her father was Greek and worked in shipping, and her mother was English. She came to England as a child to attend school. She took acting classes whilst at school, and a chance meeting with BBC director Alan Bell and Head of Light Entertainment Jim Moir led to an audition for a new television show.

Television career

Rocos appeared on television regularly in the 1980s and 1990s, from a minor role in The Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy to being a roving reporter for the consumer affairs program That's Life! She was most often seen in Kenny Everett Television Show, in which her glamorous and curvaceous figure was often used to comedy effect – a role echoed in the 1985 TV sketch series Assaulted Nuts. She lied about her age in order to get into the Kenny Everett Video Show on itv when she was 15 years old. (1978) Rocos went on to announce in 2013 that the display would not be produced in modern times because "professional campaigning women with swollen ankles and shrill ovaries have nothing better to do than to police people's opinions." She appeared in BBC1 science quiz series Brainstorm, a one-series production from 1988, as an uncoated lab assistant. Marcus Berkmann described the pair as "two reticent, rather formal people who loved to play and perform but held their privacy above all else."

Rocos starred in a Welsh comedy show on S4C from the 1980s to the early 1990s. The main characters in this series were Rhys Ifans and Meirion Davies.

On late-night ITV in the early 1990s, she played a similar role with TV critic Garry Bushell on ITV's nocturnal TV-review series Bushell on the Box. On Chris Evans' Channel 4 series TFI Friday, she made a few appearances in the Ugly Bloke slot as an incongruously glamorous escort to physically unattractive males.

Other television credits include an acting appearance in a US drama series Highlander, presenting and co-producing a short Channel 5 series on Princess Diana's dresses, participating in BBC game shows such as Wipe out, Blankety Blank and Ready, Steady, Cook, and partaking in Channel 5's Night Fever. She appeared in Leigh Francis' television series Whatever I Want as herself, as did Big Brother host Davina McCall. Later on Bo', Rocos appeared again with Francis. The American version of Bo' Selecta!

Though Everett's death in 1995, she delivered bizarre reports from exotic locations for the long-running ITV travel show Wish You Were Here...?

She hosted and produced a travel show for Five in 2002-3, and she spent much of summer 2006 directing a new travel show about the wonders of the world.

In 2007, Rocos entered the Celebrity Big Brother house and stayed in the house until the final week. She was forced to leave the show on January 26, 2007, as part of a surprise joint eviction alongside actress Jo O'Meara, a former member of pop group S Club 7.

Rocos was interviewed on Sky News on December 30th as a "brother of Benazir Bhutto," the recently assassinated Pakistan politician.

She appeared on BBC celebrity specials on January 2nd, 2010; on May 2, 2010 she appeared on Scream If You Know the Answer. She appeared on Channel 4's Come Dine With Me in October 2011 and was joint winner with pop singer Pete Burns.

She appeared on BBC Radio 4's The Museum of Curiosity with Robert Llewellyn and Kevin Warwick in 2013.

She narrated the three-part observational series 'Welcome to Rio' in Rio de Janeiro, which aimed to reveal the truth about the city's legendary shanty-towns, the favelas, in 2014 (a few weeks before the World Cup association football tournament in Rio de Janeiro, aimed at youth in Rio de Janeiro, which aimed to reveal the truth about the city's infamous shanty-towns, the favelas, The Rocos narrated the programmes, saying, 'We're in it,' implying her affiliation with Rio.'

Celebrity 5 Go Motorhoming, a Channel 5 reality show, was on display in 2017.

Business career
