The Irish series has been likened to Fleabag in that it centers on a thirtysomething woman who is recouping her sobriety after returning from London for her grandmother's funeral. Shiv Sheridan, a recovering drinker who has lost her career in London, is Roisin Gallagher's role. She decides to stay in Dublin, but her dysfunctional family threatens to drag her back to the bottle.
Boat Story: You wouldn't see this much gore in a zombie film if Tarantino made it, writes CHRISTOPHER STEVENS

What would you do?If you were walking the dog and found a truckload of cocaine next to a couple of corpses on a deserted beach, would you ignore the bodies and steal the drugs? It's a ridiculous thing. Jack and Harry Williams, writers, don't want us to take it seriously. They're really asking is... "Yeah, but what if?" trolls are asking. No other British screenwriters dare to do this, putting the credibility of the opening credits to the test and then stretching them. We have the wildly improved version of the boat story (BBC1), with three children shrieling in delight at a fractured head in a field. It's like the Just William version of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

The 14 photos, which were taken using then-pioneering technology, depict Captain Sir John Franklin (top left) and his senior officers, all of whom perished on the doomed mission. Sir John and his crew travelled on the ships HMS Terror and HMS Erebus to find a navigable passage through the north of Canada's icy Arctic waters. However, they went too far south, and by the fall of 1846, they were stuck in the ice near King William Island. Exactly what happened after the disaster remains largely unknown, although research shows that the crew resorted to cannibalism, and there were reports that their behavior became erratic and bizarre. In the 2021 BBC drama The Terror (inset), in which Captain Franklin was depicted by Ciaran Hinds, the expedition was given a supernatural twist.
