Christine "Christy" Altomare is an American actress and singer-songwriter. Altomare has appeared in Wendla in the first national tour of the rock musical Spring Awakening, Sue Snell in the off-Broadway revival of Carrie, and she made her Broadway debut as Sophie in Mamma Mia!

Early life
Altomare debuted in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, at the age of five. She appeared in choirs and school productions before attending the Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati, where she appeared in a variety of productions. She was a National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts winner in 2004 in the musical theater category. She graduated from CCM in 2008 with a BFA in Musical Theatre.

Career
Altomare began writing songs at the age of twelve. She has three independent CDs: Not Yet Over You (2004), Waiting For You (2007), and After You (2008). She was sixteen when she first began working with her new boss, Edie Robb. Jewel and Joni Mitchell appear as her greatest influences.
Altomare was one of the first national touring cast of the Broadway musical Spring Awakening in the lead role of Wendla, which opened in San Diego on August 15, 2008. She performed in over 600 cities and gave over 600 shows. She stayed with the tour until its final appearance on May 23, 2010. Throughout the tour, Altomare received mainly favorable feedback. Seth Kubersky of Orlando Weekly praised her as "inevitably innocent and adorable as the inevitable victim," while Eric Rezsnyak of the Rochester City Paper praised her "piercing, haunting soprano voice" and how "even her most difficult melodic passes seem completely natural."
Altomare performed Sue Snell in MCC Theater's limited-engagement production of Carrie at the Lucille Lortel Theatre during the Spring Awakening Tour. Sophie Sheridan appeared in the role of Liana Hunt at the Winter Garden Theatre, where she took her place in the role of Sophie Sheridan. Altomare received acclaim for her role in winning the Connecticut Critics Circle Award. She revived her Broadway debut at the Broadhurst Theatre. Previews started on March 23, 2017, and the show officially opened on April 24, 2017. Altomare's role in the Broadway revival earned her rave reviews and many accolade nominations, including a 2017 Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Leading Actress in a Musical. Altomare produced a series of video blogs for Broadway.com titled Royal Misfits: Backstage at Anastasia, giving an inside look at life backstage at the production during Anastasia's run. On March 31, 2019, she continued with the production until its final Broadway performance.
On July 22, 2019, Altomare performed Nellie in a concert version of South Pacific at the Aspen Music Festival.
