Career
Chloe Bailey was born in Mableton, Georgia, with her older brother Branson Bailey, and her sister Halle Bailey, and later moved to Los Angeles in mid-2012. She appeared in films, including The Battle Temptations (2004), starring Beyoncé, and Disney's Let It Shine (2012) while in Georgia. At the age of ten and eight, their father started showing them how to write songs. They formed a YouTube channel at the ages of 13 and 11 respectively, with a banner of Beyoncé's "Best Thing I Never Had" on the front page. When uploading pop songs as Chloe x Halle first appeared on this website, they first appeared as Chloe x Halle. On April 2012, the pair made their talk show debuts on The Ellen Show. In September 2013, she made a cameo appearance in the Disney series Austin & Ally's "Unstoppable" album, which was released on the Disney channel.
Bailey appeared on the TV show Grown-ish in 2018 as Jazlyn "Jazz" Forster after having sung the series's theme song "Grown." In the series premiere, the song "The Kids Are Alright" was also included. When her character came out of college, she departed the series at the end of the fourth season.
Bailey joined the cast of M. A. Fortin and Joshua John Miller's horror film The Georgetown Project in November 2019. Madelaine Petsch will appear alongside her in Jane, a 2022 psychological drama film.
Bailey's debut solo single, "Have Mercy," was released in August 2021 as the lead single off her forthcoming debut solo studio album. She had teased the Murda Beatz-produced album a few times before. She claimed that the album was "90% finished" and that it is more pop-oriented. Bailey performed "Have Mercy" at the main show of the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards on September 12, 2018. Bailey was nominated in three categories, including Outstanding Female Artist and Outstanding Soul/R&B Song for "Have Mercy" at the 53rd NAACP Image Awards.
Bailey co-starred alongside Kesha and Mason Gooding in Electric Easy, a scripted science fiction film set in a futuristic Los Angeles in which humans wrestle with robots, also known as "electrics." Vanya Asher created the show and Kesha produced it. On August 30, 2021, the podcast debuted.
Bailey released "Treat Me" with accompanying music video in April 2022 as the second solo single from her forthcoming album. "It's time for me to just give myself the love I'm looking for," she said after a breakup.
