Chito Miranda Life

Alfonso "Chito" Y. Miranda Jr. (born February 7, 1976) is a Filipino singer-songwriter and occasional performer best known as one of the group's founding members and lead singer.

Personal life

Miranda is a good friend of fellow Filipino singer Jay Contreras, rapper Gloc-9, and late Francis Magalona. Miranda was a member of Ateneo de Manila University's 1994 atheneo Rho fraternity. Miranda is also known as a keen fisherman and shooting sports enthusiast among the public. Miranda, who is known as a heavy smoker since high school, quit smoking after undergoing an executive health check-up in late 2013.

Miranda was in a long-term relationship with actress Kaye Abad, which lasted until 2009. Miranda married actress Neri Naig twice in 2014: in a civil ceremony on December 13 and in a formal wedding in Tagay the following day. Miranda revealed in August 2015 that Naig had suffered from a miscarriage, which would have been their first child. Miranda and Naig confirmed that they were expecting a child again on June 19, 2016, the Philippines' Father's Day. In November 2016, a boy, their first child, was born. In October 2021, their second child, also a boy, was born. The couple are also in the process of officially adopting a child who is Naig's niece as of December 2021.

Miranda appeared on YouTube on August 3, 2013. Video clips of her having sexual intercourse with Naig and two other people appeared on three occasions. The video snippets with the other two women were shot and posted on blogs and social media pages, but the one with Naig became popular and was shared on blogs and social media pages. Miranda said that his bedroom had been robbed on his Twitter account. His hard disk drive, where photos and video files were saved, was one of those that was robbed. Miranda expressed her remorse over the private video's leak on Parokya ni Edgar's Facebook page and Miranda's personal Instagram account. He also asked for forgiveness from both his and Naig's families. Miranda and Naig was featured in a Facebook clip the following month, which was different from the first video that aired in August.

Chito Miranda Career

Early life and career

Miranda attended grade school and high school at Ateneo de Manila University, where he met Gab Chee Kee, Vinci Montaner, Jeric Estaco, and Mikko Yap. During their high school years, they formed a garage band.

The group was known in school as class clowns. They would normally appear in shows in women's clothing to entertain earthquake victims and typhoons while still singing off-key in poetry readings.

They were eventually hired as front-act band for Parokya ni Edgar, a local Filipino alternative rock band. Buwi Meneses' childhood friend and schoolmate Dindin Moreno joined as bassist and drummer later on. Estaco and Yap's graduation from high school led to the departure of the group in order to pursue other pursuits. Darius Sema (lead guitar), Meneses' former bandmate, joined shortly after to complete the sextet.

Parokya ni Edgar was originally named 'Comic Relief.' However, they retained the name to honor a Noli me tangere parody in their adolescence.

Parokya ni Edgar, one of Manila's most popular clubs at that time, played regularly in Club Dredd until the 1990s. The band gradually grew fame during the Filipino rock boom, with the local rock community beginning to understand the influence of foreign grunge bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden.

After witnessing one of their appearances at Club Dredd, the late managing director of Universal Records, Bella Dy Tan, and Alexis Tan signed them as contract artists. For their debut album Khangkhunghernitz, the band received a triple platinum award.
