EVERTON FAN: A landmark Premier League points deduction would put our name and reputation in jeopardy... and for trying to compete? The spineless Richard Masters fining Super League Six only £3m shows just how absurd modern football has become

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 18, 2023
Comment by BY JIM FOULERTON: The public's smear of our club being docked with the highest point deduction in Premier League history could have ramifications. This is a 'global product' (it used to be a game of football) that reaches households in the most far-flung places, meaning people all around the world will be looking at Everton and thinking, 'wow, what absolute dodge pots, what are they, the new Juventus or something?' Okay, so it's nothing like the Calciopoli fiasco in 2006, which sacked Italian football, with Juve being relegated and Milan, Fiorentina, and Lazio each deducted 30 points.

WILL PICKWORTH IN ISTANBUL: It was the picture that got everyone talking. It was the photograph that caused outrage in Germany media and politicians. It was the photograph that displayed Ilkay Gundogan, one of Germany's most influential footballers of this period, who was interested in honoring his family's roots. It was 2018 and Gundogan and Ozil - two German-born players who competed for the national team but had Turkish roots - were pictured next to the polarizing head of state Recep Erdogan in London.

After winning on Friday night, Dele Alli sent a letter to his supporters after scoring and putting in a Man of the Match display for Besiktas. The English midfielder was sensational in their 3-0 victory over Alanyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig after being given a rare gift by boss Senol Gunes. Despite the fanfare that welcomed his arrival, the former Tottenham star who suffered through a difficult spell in Turkey and failed to make a splash appeared just 11 times before Friday.

Nathan Redmond completes Besiktas move bringing an end to his six-year stay at Southampton

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 8, 2022
Redmond has signed a one-year contract with the Istanbul-based group, bringing an end to a six-year tenure on the south coast. Redmond, who came from Norwich City in the summer of 2016, has had limited playing time lately and has been deemed surplus to demands. He has only played 15 times for Southampton in 2022, including just one late cameo appearance as a substitute on the first day of the new season in a 4-1 loss at Tottenham. The former Birmingham City youthster made 232 appearances for Southampton, where he hasn't scored a single goal. Ralph Hasenhuttl, the 28-year-old manager of Redmond, claims that the club's supporters are raving about his stay at St Mary's Stadium, and that he will now continue to make a difference in Istanbul.

Turkish fan storms the pitch and FLY KICKS a Besiktas player with Tosun caught in the crossfire

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 5, 2022
The incident took place in the middle of the pitch, with Besiktas and Ankaracacu players arguing with each other. The referee attempted to calm the situation down, but a backer jumped the fence and sprinted onto the field before the referee sprinted on to the field, but the referee had his back turned. Before the pitch invader was pushed to the ground by Josef de Souza, one of two players suspended in the match, the fan managed to kick Ucan's backside, causing a much larger melee. After being foiled, Besiktas players and stewards finally tackled the fan, with Everton flop Cenk Tosun also involved in the crossfire.

The 26-year-old midfielder toppled Berkay Vardar in his new team's starting XI and played 78 minutes at the Vodafone Arena for the Turkish giants as they defeated Gaziantep FK on goal difference to jump ahead of the table. The former Tottenham star, who joined Besiktas on loan from Everton last week, was then released with 12 minutes remaining and his team 3-0 up for Kerem Atakan Kesgin. Wout Weghorst, a besiktas striker on loan from Burnley, was one of the scorers on the home side, while Everton flop Cenk Tosun was a replacement for Valerien Ismael's side. Alli's three starts in 2022 have played for a different team at a different time, namely Tottenham, Everton, and Besiktas.
