CeeLo Green Life

Thomas DeCarlo Callaway (born May 30, 1975), also known as CeeLo Green (or Cee Lo Green), is an American singer-songwriter, rapper, record producer, and actor.

Green is best known for his soul music, including the hit singles "Crazy" and "Fuck You."

Green, who was born in Atlanta, Georgia, rose to fame as a member of the Southern hip hop group Goodie Mob.

He began performing as a solo artist on Arista Records: Cee-Lo Green and His Perfect Imperfections ((2002)) and Is the Soul Machine (2004). Gnarls Barkley, a joint project with DJ Danger Mouse, was Green's next project.

With "Crazy," the duo's first international hit, including the United States and the United Kingdom, Green released two albums: 2006's platinum-selling St. Griss. The Odd Couple, a 2008 film set in Elsewhere, and The Odd Couple, 2006.

Green continued his solo career with the album The Lady Killer, which inspired his biggest solo hit, "Fuck You."

The album debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, and it also appeared in the top ten in thirteen countries.

Cee Lo's Magic Moment (2012) and Heart Blanche (2015) Green has released two more solo albums, Cee Lo's Magic Moment (2012) and Heart Blanche (2015), as well as a reunion album with Goodie Mob, Age Against the Machine (2014). Green served as a judge and mentor on The Voice, America's most popular reality television singing competition, from 2011 to 2014, appearing on four seasons of the program.

Murray the Mummy appeared in the 2012 animated film Hotel Transylvania, and he also appeared in a few television programs and films, including his own film, CeeLo Green's The Good Life.

Green has appeared in advertisements, including 7 Up, Duracell, M&M's, and the sake brand TYKU.

His work has received numerous awards and accolades, including five Grammy Awards, a BET Award, a Billboard Award, and a Brit Award.

Early life

Callaway was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 30, 1975. Both of his parents were firefighters, and he began his singing career in church. Green died when his father was two years old. When Green was 16 years old and died in 1993, his mother was paralyzed in a car accident.

Green's Goodie Mob career was just getting off, at the time of his mother's death. He continued to wrestle with suicide thoughts, which he later wrote about in several songs throughout his career, including Goodie Mob's "Free" and Gnarls Barkley's "Just a Thought." In "She Knows" and "A Little Better," from Gnarls Barkley's "The Odd Couple (2008)" and "Guess Who," Goodie Mob's Soul Food (1995), he'll specifically focus on his parents' deaths. Green said in an excerpt from CeeLo Distilled, a documentary film made by Absolute and Fader, that his mother's death was a turning point that pushed him toward "crossing the threshold into a career."

Personal life

CeeLo Green has described himself as a "goon" in his youth, as well as a "kleptomaniac, pyromaniac, and just plain maniac."

Green married Christina Johnson and divorced in 2005. He and Johnson's son, Kingston, was born on September 30, 2000, and Sierra and Kalah were the stepfather to her two children. Sierra appeared on MTV's My Super Sweet 16 for her 15th birthday party in 2005.

Green was charged with sexual assault by a woman with whom he had dined at a Los Angeles restaurant on October 30, 2012, resulting in a nearly year-long probe by the Los Angeles Police Department. After the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office refused to press a charge of rape of an intoxicated person, Green pleaded not guilty to a criminal charge of providing a controlled drug on October 21, 2013, citing insufficient evidence. Green pleaded no contest to one count of providing ecstasy, was sentenced to three years of probation, 360 hours of community service, and the completion of 52 Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous meetings on August 29, 2014.

CeeLo Green Career

Music career

Green, alongside Big Gipp, T-Mo, and Khujo, was an early participant of the Atlanta hip hop group Goodie Mob. He was the youngest of the four siblings. The Goodie Mob was a member of the Dungeon Family, which also included Outkast. Goodie Mob appeared on two tracks on OutKast's 1994 debut album Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, with Green on "Call of the Wild" and "Git Up, Git Out" featuring Green.

In 1995, Goodie Mob released Soul Food, their first album. The album received a lot of attention for its burgeoning Southern rap scene. Organized Noize's production team created a unique soulful southern sound.

Green also contributed backing vocals to TLC's hit 1995 album "Waterfalls."

Still Standing, the group's second album, came out in 1998 and has since received a lot of critical attention. However, the company's commercial results were marginally smaller than its previous attempts. Green took greater responsibility for the group's upcoming album, World Party, which was released in 1999.

Green left Goodie Mob early in 1999 to pursue a solo career with Arista Records, while the remaining members continued to perform together under the Goodie Mob name with Koch Records. However, they did work on the Dungeon Family album Even in Shadow (2001).

From Big Boi's Got Purp's "Hold On" the song "Hold On" is a hit. Vol. The first officially released Goodie Mob song with all four members since World Party was on the 2nd album.

Green was one of ten guest musicians on the 1999 Santana album Supernatural. Lauryn Hill wrote "Do You Like the Way," and she and Green provided lead vocals. Green also contributed to the album "We're All Gonna Die" by Everlast on the 2000 album Eat at Whitey's and the song "Reverse" on Puff Daddy's 2000 album Forever.

Arista Green's career was short-lived, as he was forced to cancel two albums due to poor record sales. Cee-Lo Green and His Perfect Imperfections, Green's first album, was also in the vein of other Dungeon Family albums, with southern soul/jazz backing provided by Green and featuring appearances by fellow Dungeon Family members Big Gipp and Backbone. The album did not do well, but Green did a good job with the single "Closet Freak."

Cee-Lo Green's second Arista album, Is the Soul Machine (2004), featured a more rooted sound and a deeper dive into southern rap music. Collaborations with "the best hip-hop musicians of all time" have been demonstrated by collaborations such as Ludacris, T.I., and Pharrell Williams. The album debuted and peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Album chart, peaking at number two. It received critical acclaim and was described as "one of the most exciting albums to come out of any genre in recent times."

Green, alongside DJ Danger Mouse, formed a pair known as Gnarls Barkley. At a University of Georgia function, Green first encountered Danger Mouse. They later collaborated on a remix of Danger Mouse and Jemini's "What U Sittin' On?" From the 2004 album Ghetto Pop Life, Green and Irma collaborated on the song "Benzie Box" from Danger Doom's 2005 film "The Mouse and The Mask," where Green sings the chorus.

St. gnarls Barkley's first album, "St. a. Elsewhere, a British citizen, was born in the United Kingdom on April 24, 2006 and in the United States on May 2, 2006. St. Louis is a city in the United States. Elsewhere ranked No. 1 in the United Kingdom, as did the first single, "Crazy." "Crazy" is the first single to reach the top of the United Kingdom solely based on digital download sales alone, and Rolling Stone has ranked it as the country's most popular song of the decade, making it Green's most profitable campaign to date. In March 2008, Gnarls Barkley's second album, The Odd Couple, was released. "Run (I'm a Natural Disaster)" was its first single released in January.

Gnarls Barkley, Arista, and Legacy released a 17-track greatest hits collection of songs by Green in 2006, titled Closet Freak: The Best of Cee-Lo Green the Soul Machine, in honor of their accomplishments. It features mainly solo tracks by Green and a few Goodie Mob songs. On the Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack, Green's song "What Part of Forever" was included. Green performed a recreation of Carl Douglas's 1974 single "Kung Fu Fighting" for the animated film Kung Fu Panda.

Green's single "Fuck You" was released on August 14, 2010. Due to a partial leak on April 13, the singer's planned solo album launch was delayed until his upcoming solo album debut.

"Fuck You!"

Over two million plays in less than a week was a viral smash hit, with over two million playing in less than a week. CeeLo's official music video for the song appeared on YouTube two weeks later on September 1.

"Fuck You!"

On a debut on the UK charts, Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow defeated "Shame" from the recently reunited Robbie Williams and Gary Barlow's "Shame."Stray Bullets, Green's first mixtape, debuted in October 2010. In an interview with Exclaim!, he said his forthcoming 2010 album The Lady Killer was "a more concise, concise, consistent, and complete collection [than his previous]. It's a complete thought because it's written to be like a score. You know that the album is supposed to be a motion picture? I've never taken that route to recording an album before." The album, which was released on November 8, 2010, will also reach Double Platinum status in the United Kingdom, which was announced on November 4, 2011. "Fuck You!" CeeLo's first Grammy nomination was announced on December 1, 2010. "The United States and Denmark had been rated Gold." The single gained Platinum status in Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, as well as multi-platinum honours in Australia. The song was released as a radio-friendly version, with the catch and the words "Fuck You."

changed to "Forget You!"

Green appeared on stage throughout 2010 and 2011 with an all-female backing band called "Scarlet Fever" (made up of Sharon Aguilar, Brittany Brooks, Regina Zernay Roberts, and Regina Zernay Roberts), performing for Taratata, W's Symmetry Live Concert Series, Saturday Night Live, and Jimmy Kimmel Live! Following the Academy Awards, a special show was on display in many other venues. On February 13, 2011, Green performed "Forget You" with Gwyneth Paltrow and several puppets provided by the Jim Henson Company at the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards on February 13, 2011. His appearance was in part an homage to Elton John, who wore a very similar outfit in a Muppet Show appearance in 1977. Green was joined by British singer Joelle Bennett for another duet of "Fuck You" at the 2011 BRIT Awards two days later. Green would join Rihanna and J. Cole on the North American leg of Rihanna's Loud Tour in the summer of 2011. However, he later pulled out of the tour, citing his full schedule — which included a commitment to judging The Voice, writing a new book, and recording a new album — as the reason for his departure.

Green performed "Forget You" and the event's theme, "Bright Lights Bigger City" on August 14, 2011. He also appeared at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards.

On November 28, 2011, CeeLo re-released his album The Lady Killer as a Platinum Edition. The repackaged album featured the original 16 songs, as well as remixed versions of "Bright Lights Bigger City" (feat). "I Want You (Hold on to Love)" by Wiz Khalifa, as well as Ross Golan's "Anyway" album. The new album was released as the album's sixth overall single and first Platinum Edition single.

For the Sex and the City 2 soundtrack, Green performed and wrote "Language of Love." In mid-2010, it was announced that he was working with Alien Ant Farm on a track set for debut on the band's forthcoming album. This was announced the following year, but the track didn't appear; however, Alien Ant Farm singer Dryden Mitchell said he intended to do a cover of "Easy Lover" with Green, but Green never appeared on the show, but Green never acknowledged his appearance.

Green performed at a fundraiser for President Barack Obama in March 2012. He attended. Green started singing "Fuck You" with the original lyrics, but then switched to the new version. In September 2012, he released the song "I Love Football," which was based on Ramones' "Blitzkrieg Bop." The National Football League selected it as the theme tune for Thursday Night Football 2013.

On February 5, 2013, Green released the single "Only You," a contestant on P. Diddy's Starmaker. It was supposed to be on Green's forthcoming fourth album, tentatively named Girl Power, but the end did not appear on an album. Green began his "CeeLo Green Presents Loberace" concert residency in the same month (or simply "Loberace"). The original intention to be unveiled at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on February 21, 2013, but the demonstration was postponed to a later date due to a deadly shooting along the Las Vegas Strip, where the resort is located. Everybody's Brother was published a few months after, Green's autobiography on September 10 was released.

Green toured with Lionel Richie from June to August 2014 for his North American All Night Long Tour. Green formed the Board Memberz, led by musical director Printz Board and made up of Timothy "Izo" Orindgreff, Lucy Graves, Jazelle Rodriguez, Ashley Dzerigan, Patty A. Miller, and Sojung "Liso" Lee.

Green released a concept mixtape with music derived from a number of television show theme songs, titled TV on the Radio in January 2015. Heart Blanche, his next studio album, was released on November 6, 2015. On July 17, 2015, the lead single, "Robin Williams," was released after and dedicated to the actor of the same name.

Green's alias Gnarly Davidson released a new song and video "F*** Me I'm Famous" in December 2016. For which he wore all gold and with a face mask, the artist appeared in character as Gnarly Davidson at the 59th Grammy Awards, complete with a face mask. "Jay-Z's Girl" was released a few days later by a few days. The song is a reworking of Rick Springfield's "Jessie's Girl," with the song's lyrics revolving to reflect his admiration for Jay-Z's wife Beyoncé.

Green performed at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships in Budapest on July 14, 2017.

"Lead Me" and "Doing It All Together," Green's new singles from his June 2020 album CeeLo Green Is Thomas Callaway, have been released. The album name refers to his legal name.
