Jude Bellingham took to social media to celebrate with his mum after Real Madrid were crowned LaLiga champions. Carlo Ancelotti's side moved fourteen points clear at the top of table with a 3-0 victory against Cadiz on Saturday courtesy of goals from Brahmin Diaz, Jude Bellingham and Joselu. With four games remaining, Real were almost out of sight of loathed rivals Barcelona, but were dependent on the Blaugrana's result going their way to clinch the title with weeks to spare. 

Real Madrid have been crowned champions of La Liga after Barcelona failed to beat Girona. The result meant Barcelona had to defeat their Catalan rivals to have any chance of knocking them off top spot.

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti (left photo, right) has revealed he was forced to substitute Jude Bellingham (bottom right) against Bayern Munich due to cramp. The two sides played out an enthralling 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final, with a brace from Vinicius Jnr cancelled out by goals from Leroy Sane and Harry Kane to leave the tie finely poised. Bellingham has had a stunning impact since arriving at Real last summer, with the 20-year-old scoring 21 goals in all competitions. However, eyebrows were raised when the Birmingham City youth product was withdrawn for Luka Modric with 15 minutes to play against Bayern.

Manchester United have received allegations that 'scumbag' fans are posing as disabled supporters to gain access to away matches this season. The club are given dedicated wheelchair spaces for every away fixture but Chas Banks, secretary of the Manchester United Disabled Supporters' Association, told the latest meeting of the Fans' Forum there has been 'widespread misuse' of these tickets by a group of disabled fans. These have either been passed on to non-disabled supporters directly or through a third party in breach of United's ticket rules. 

Elsewhere in La Liga on Matchday 33 Carlo Ancelotti made nine changes ahead of tonight's meeting with Bayern Munich and still won against a lukewarm Real Sociedad. Racism reared its ugly head inside Spanish stadiums, this time in Atletico Madrid 's Metropolitano. And Dovbyk and Sorloth were superb in front of goal once more. Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has fired back at Manchester City star Bernardo Silva after he claimed the LaLiga side were a 'weird team' having dumped them out of the Champions League this month. Reigning champions City were beaten 4-3 on penalties by Madrid after a 1-1 draw at the Etihad - with the score 4-4 on aggregate - despite the home side dominating much of the second leg.  City had beaten Madrid in the semi-finals of last year's competition - but lost to them at the same stage of the 2021-22 edition - and it led Silva to claim Madrid were a 'weird' side to play against because of their ability to create chances even if they are seemingly not having a good spell in the game.

Harry Kane was reportedly Carlo Ancelotti's number one target for Real Madrid last summer - but the England captain joined Bayern Munich instead. The Real manager had wanted the talisman, then at Spurs, ahead of anyone else, including Jude Bellingham, who has been a revelation in Madrid since his summer move from Borussia Dortmund. However, a senior figure at Real Madrid vetoed the bid for Kane last summer, because they had their eyes on a different star. 

Real Madrid's 19-year-old Turkish international Arda Guller scored the only goal of the game as Carlo Ancelotti's team went 14 points clear at the top of La Liga. It was his first start of the season and he made the difference as Madrid extended their unbeaten run in La Liga to 25 games. They asked the Spanish League to let them play on Friday to give them an extra day to prepare for next week's Champions League semi-final and they took full advantage despite fielding a second string XI. Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti made nine changes from the team that won the Clasico with only Luka Modric and Nacho keeping their place. Jude Bellingham was not supposed to even travel but was on the bench after Rodrygo pulled out late with a stomach upset.

Kylian Mbappe (left) has reportedly agreed to 'play as a centre-forward' for Real Madrid, should his move to the LaLiga giants materialise later this summer. The 25-year-old looks set to depart Paris Saint-Germain in the summer after a six-year spell at the Ligue 1 club, and is edging ever closer to a move to Real Madrid, ending what will be a long-standing transfer saga with the Spanish outfit. There are some concerns though over how Carlo Ancelotti (top-right) will structure his team, should Mbappe join, with it perhaps impossible to drop their star left-winger Vinicius Jnr for the French World Cup winner, while Rodrygo balances him out on the opposing wing.

PETE JENSON: Xavi 's team needed the win to close the gap to five points but defeat left them 11 points adrift with only 18 to play for. The Barcelona boss was left moaning about the referee while Carlo Ancelotti could enjoy Jude Bellingham 's 21st goal of the season. The England midfielder continues to shine in his debut season in Spain, and once again proved his worth on home soil to take Madrid towards what will eventually be a 36th LaLiga title.

PETE JENSON: Real Madrid took a big step towards clinching the LaLiga title after beating Barcelona 3-2 at the Bernabeu.  Carlo Ancelotti's side fell behind after just six minutes through Andreas Christensen's header before Vinicius Jnr levelled the match with a penalty 12 minutes later.  The visitors reclaimed their lead through Fermin Lopez's rebound on the 69 minute mark but again, it didn't last for long as Lucas Vazquez struck 4 minutes later. 

Casemiro has revealed that seeing Carlo Ancelotti in tears almost made him pull out of joining Manchester United in 2022. The Brazilian midfielder left Real Madrid after nine seasons for £60million on the back of winning five Champions League titles. He was excited for the move but Casemiro says he had doubts about it after Ancelotti - the usually unflappable Senor managing Madrid with effortless serenity - was reduced to a blubbering wreck in his office. 

This year's Champions League semi-finalists have been decided following four thrilling quarter-final ties. It was a bad week for English clubs as Man City and Arsenal were knocked out by Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, respectively. Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund edged past Atletico Madrid, and PSG came from behind to see off Barcelona. There were outstanding individual performances across the round, but some players also struggled on the big stage.

Real Madrid are favourites to win the Champions League after reigning champions Manchester City, and strong contenders Arsenal, were both knocked out of the competition on Wednesday night.  Carlo Ancelotti's side prevailed following a penalty shootout at the Etihad Stadium, in which Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic saw their penalties saved.   Bayern Munich meanwhile got the better of Arsenal, after Joshua Kimmich's 63rd minute header was enough to send the Bundesliga giants through after a 3-2 aggregate victory.

There were wry smiles across the continent on Thursday morning when the self-proclaimed Best League in the World saw its remaining Champions League hopes extinguished. There will be no English club in the semi-finals for the first time in four years. Bayern Munich are enduring their worst season in recent memory and gently eased Arsenal on to the hard shoulder. Real Madrid taunted Manchester City into a penalty shootout and, with their voodoo in this competition, prevailed as everybody inside the Etihad Stadium expected them to once it came down to nerve and kicking stationary balls from 12 yards.

PETE JENSON: The end is nigh for Xavi. It could even come on Sunday night if Barcelona lose the Clasico and slip 11 points behind Real Madrid. A defeat at the Santiago Bernabeu would leave Barça with a six-game run-in and only second place to play for.  They need to finish second for the €5million [£4.27m] they will earn from the Spanish Super Cup, but chasing runners-up positions is not what the club is about and May will be a long month mainly spent speculating over who the new manager will be.

AADAM PATEL AT THE ETIHAD: By the dying stages, it felt like the twelfth round of a heavyweight fight with two elite sides refusing to be beaten. One on the hunt to win. The other, simply content with survival. As the penalty shootout unfolded, Ancelotti strolled up and down the touchline in isolation, away from the rest, in his own space and with his own thoughts. When his players and back-room staff raced towards Antonio Rudiger and Lunin after the winning penalty, the Italian expressed the briefest moment of joy with two fist pumps into the air before going to shake hands with Guardiola.

Rio Ferdinand jokingly described Jude Bellingham as someone 'you want your daughter to bring home' after the England superstar delivered a mature and composed interview in the wake of Real Madrid's penalty shootout win over Manchester City on Wednesday. Bellingham scored his spot-kick for Real Madrid in the shootout to help Carlo Ancelotti's side book their place in the Champions League semi-finals alongside Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich. City, who were vying for a second Treble in two successive seasons, fell short after Mateo Kovacic and Bernardo Silva missed their decisive penalties at the Etihad.

JACK GAUGHAN AT THE ETIHAD: Real Madrid advanced to the semi-finals of the Champions League after beating Manchester City 4-3 on penalties at Etihad Stadium on Wednesday. Antonio Rudiger struck the decisive spot kick after the game had finished 1-1 through extra time and 4-4 on aggregate. Rodrygo fired Madrid ahead in the 12th minute with a twice-taken effort from close range to beat City goalkeeper Ederson on the rebound.

Outgoing Barcelona manager Xavi could be replaced before the end of the season if defeat in Sunday's El Clasico follows their Champions League elimination, according to reports in Spain. Xavi has remained adamant he will not reverse his decision to leave the club at the end of the campaign despite moves by the hierarchy to keep him in post. However, following Tuesday night's 4-1 loss to PSG, which saw them crash out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage, the 44-year-old is reportedly now at risk of losing his position in the coming days.

Real Madrid have named an ineligible player in their 22-man travelling squad to face Manchester City as Carlo Ancelotti attempts to navigate his side through the second-leg Champions League clash. City hold the home advantage heading into the second-leg of the quarter-final Champions League tie with the aggregate score level at 3-3 after a thrilling previous encounter in the Spanish capital.

Jude Bellingham hilariously met an apparent lookalike before Real Madrid's win over Mallorca on Saturday.  Carlo Ancelotti's side took a step closer to secure the Laliga title with a 1-0 victory thanks to Aurelien Tchoumeni's stunning long-range strike.  The result ensured Real also maintained their eight point lead over fierce rivals Barcelona ahead of next weekend's El Classico. 

Aurelien Tchouameni struck early in the second half to give Real Madrid a 1-0 win at Mallorca in LaLiga on Saturday as they rested key players ahead of their Champions League quarter-final against Manchester City. Real dominated proceedings and Tchouameni scored in the 48th minute with a thunderous shot from way outside the penalty area that beat lunging keeper Predrag Rajkovic. The win lifted Real to 78 points, 11 ahead of bitter rivals Barcelona, whom they host in an 'El Clasico' match at the Santiago Bernabeu next weekend.

Ferguson retired as United boss in 2013 following a trophy-laden 26-year spell and bowed out on a high after winning his 13th Premier League title in his final season. His presence is sorely missed at Old Trafford with the club having failed to lift the top-flight trophy since under their six different managers to date. The 82-year-old has remained firmly on the sidelines and minimised his involvement in football, although he admitted to missing the buzz of the sport on one occasion. But it was not a United game that saw him yearning for the good times.
