Carey Lowell (born February 11, 1961) is an American actress and former model.
Early life
Lowell's daughter, James Lowell, was born in Huntington, New York. She spent her childhood in many countries, including Libya, the Netherlands, and France. She lived in Houston, Texas, and Denver, Colorado, where her family landed when she was 12 years old. She travelled to New York City to study modeling and worked with such companies as Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein, and at one point attended New York University. She attended Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in Manhattan.
Personal life
Lowell has been married three times. John Stember, a fashion photographer, to whom she was married from 1984 to 1988, was her first husband.
Hannah Dunne, an actor from 1989 to 1995, is her daughter from her union.
Richard Gere, a British actor who was born in February 2000, married Lowell in November 2002. After 11 years of marriage, the two couples divorced in September 2013. In New York Supreme Court, the couple argued for three years in tense divorce talks. The lawsuit was settled in October 2016.
Career
Lowell debuted in the film Dangerously Close, followed by a small role in Robin Williams' Club Paradise. Pam Bouvier, a Bond girl who appeared in James Bond's Licence to Kill (1989), and Assistant District Attorney Jamie Ross on the television drama Law & Order: Trial by Jury, a character she reprised in 2005 for two seasons, and then again on the original series in 2022 as it returned for the 21st season. She had been unhappy with her acting work and had applied to study documentary filmmaking at New York University right away.
She went on a hiatus from acting in the mid-2000s. Lowell lent her likeness and voice while reprising her Licence to Kill role in the 2012 video game 007 Legends. She returned to television in 2018 as a guest on the programme Blue Bloods.
