Kate Middleton's royal titles through the years, from the Duchess of Cambridge to the Princess of Wales

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 4, 2024
She is known by many today as the Princess of Wales, but depending on time and location, it has not always been that way. Since Kate's official entrance into the royal family in 2011, when she wed Prince William, she inherited an official royal title, but it was not the same one that many know her as today. Here, FEMAIL reveals the titles held by Kate, what they mean, and the appropriate time to use them. EPHRAIM HARDCASTLE: First-class Queen Camilla uses second-class stamps to save the palace a small fortune

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 15, 2024
Queen Camilla has been doing her bit to economise. In an effort to cut the royal postage and stationery bill, as revealed here last month, she has jettisoned the traditional crested heavyweight envelopes. She likes to reply personally to as many letters as she can and always used envelopes embossed with the royal crest, sent out by £6 special delivery. Now her missives are dispatched in cheaper, unembossed envelopes and sent by normal second-class post. At 69p a pop, the palace's discounted business rate for second-class stamps, it saves a small fortune. A first-class Queen using second-class mail!

To most people, a 19th wedding anniversary is mere bronze. But for Queen Camilla, it's diamonds, diamonds and more diamonds!

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 9, 2024
When Camilla Parker Bowles married Prince Charles , 19 years ago today, the Duchess of Cornwall was given access to one of the most important and exclusive jewellery collections in the world. The past 18 months have seen her wearing a number of the late Queen Elizabeth's favourite pieces. The Queen Consort received wedding presents in her own right, including some outstanding jewels from the Saudi Royal Family , and a plethora of personal pieces from her husband, many with sentimental meaning. Some, indeed, had once belonged to her great-grandmother, Alice Keppel, a  mistress to Edward VII, King Charles's great-great-grandfather - pieces which King Charles has enjoyed finding and buying for his wife since the early days of their rekindled relationship.

When the first dress that Jacques Azagury designed for Princess Diana fell short of records at auction late last year as the most expensive of her gowns to sell at auction, the couturier was travelling around India. He had withdrawn from fashion and closed his eponymous shop in Knightsbridge, south-west London, when the auction took place at Julien's Auctions in Los Angeles.

JAN MOIR: Can the deliciously glitzy restaurant loved by Princess Diana reclaim its crown as the haunt that every A-lister MUST be seen in?90s icon Le Caprice reopens its doors

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 3, 2024
JAN MOIR (left): Jeremy King (left) is back where he belongs, sporting his latest restaurant (right), which also happens to be his old restaurant and, perhaps more importantly, was his first restaurant. From 1981 to 2000, the King of Arlington, Texas, operated it with his business partner Chris Corbin as Le Caprice. It was purchased by billionaire Richard Caring in 2005, who closed it three years ago due to the pandemic, but the name and plans to relaunch it in a London hotel were mischievous. However, it is no surprise that it was King Le Caprice's version that thrilled and delighted London. The opulent, the undeniably popular, and the indelibly royal became a favorite haunt in St James's under Corbin & King's direction.

How William finally met 'the Rottweiler' and she came out saying: 'I need a drink' - part two of royal author PENNY JUNOR's riveting book reveals how, after a troubled start, the young prince came to terms with Charles's love for Camilla

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 27, 2024
Prince Charles figured it was time to inform his children about the woman he adored two months before the Princess of Wales' death. He sat down together and shared how Camilla Parker Bowles re-entered his life, followed by a teenage passion affair, and made him so happy. William and Harry were extremely quiet when they had finished speaking, according to PENNY JUNOR (inset photo).

The day Charles and Diana announced their international presence, and the Prince 'traumatized' the teenage Lady Di with just one casual remark

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 24, 2024
When finally he decided he'd marry the lady he'd marry, he had asked the question no fewer than three times. Prince Charles announced his marriage on February 24, 1981, after years of rumors over who would be his bride. His intended was, of course, Lady Diana Spencer, and the couple's union was seen as a fairy tale, despite one uncomfortable moment in their official interview that left his bride-to-be devastated and became a portent of their eventual break-up.

EPHRAIM HARDCASTLE: Oliver Everett, Princess Diana's first private secretary, died at the age of 80. Taking the reasons for his falling-out with the Princess of Wales to his grave

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 24, 2024
EPHRAIM HARDCASTLE: Princess Diana's first private secretary, Oliver Everett, has weighed in on his death and her subsequent dismissal by, the Princess of Wales. Oliver had to cope with Diana's increasing anxiety over Camilla Parker-Bowles. Despite his sympathies, he became a non-person and was fired by her in 1983. All he'd say was that he'd been 'frozen out.' Diana was suspected by the court of being too close to Charles, as he had been the Prince's personal secretary from 1978 to 1980. Queen Elizabeth gave him the Royal Library as a consolation award. Prince Harry, who attended the Bob Marley biopic's Jamaica premiere this week, has previously discussed the late reggae legend's passion for marijuana. Although Marley's smoking up to 18 joints a day was expected, Harry's previous consumption was much less notable, with the Prince insisting that "Marijuana actually did help me." diplomats are relieved that Fujitsu, the Japanese company behind the computer chip that destroyed postmasters' lives, has admitted its flaws, clearing the way for Emperor Naruhito's Covid-postponed state visit. Any trip to the United Kingdom made by the Emperor would have been a rallying call for the wronged postmasters, without admitting guilt.

Princess Diana WOULD still have done a bombshell interview even if she hadn't been duped by disgraced BBC man Martin Bashir - but it might not have been so incendiary, royal writer Tina Brown claims

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 18, 2024
In 1995, Bashir's television interview with him attracted 23 million viewers, sparking a worldwide media buzz. Bashir said, "there were three people in this marriage," a reference to then Prince Charles' affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, now Queen Consort. Diana and Charles had been separated for three years by then and would divorce in 1996. Bashir later revealed that to gain access to the princess, she gave her brother, Earl Spencer, inaccurate bank information that indicated that his former head of security was receiving money from tabloids and the security companies to spy on his sister. Bashir told Diana a string of lies, claiming that Prince Charles was having an affair with then royal nanny Tiggy Legge-Bourke, which caused her to become pregnant and have an abortion as a result. However, Ms Brown (right), 70, who has written a series of books on Diana and the Royal Family, believes that if she had not been deceived by Bashir, she would have still speak to the public even if she hadn't been misled.

Princess Diana purchased a catalog of her gowns that were expected to sell for up to a whopping £5,000

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 17, 2024
The auction took place on June 25, 1997, just weeks before the royal died after a car accident in Paris, France, in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel. The limited edition book of the event, which saw more than 79 designer gowns raise £2.57 million for charity, is expected to sell for between £3,000 and £5,000. For the sale, purple, Moroccan leather-bound guides were produced, which soon became a collector's item.

The secrets of King Charles and Queen Camilla's VERY traditional Highland Hogmanay: Close friends in tartan outfits, salmon and game on the menu, ceilidh music - and plenty of drink (including a 50-year-old malt)

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 30, 2023
Prince Charles (right; left with Camilla), as he was then, whisked Camilla Parker-Bowles away to Scotland for a romantic break. On the Balmoral estate, the pilgrims were headed to Birkhall (inset), Charles' most awaited private bolthole. And it was there, on a freezing night in front of a roaring fire, where Charles sank to one knee in front of the woman he loved and asked the question.' It's no surprise that the King choose Birkhall, a place he once described as a "unique haven of cosiness and character" and which is rumored to be his favorite home. After all, it is said to be the only one of his residences where he can truly relax. He can stick on a pair of wellies and get a ramble, or sit in a favourite chair with the papers.

He only gets a cameo in The Crown, but his real-life service in the royal family has generated a thousand news... so who the sashing former cavalry officer is?

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 19, 2023
He was the handsome Army officer who captured Princess Diana's heart before beginning to work as a £4,000 gardener in a flat he shared with his mother. However, in the days after the final series of The Crown was published, the man branded 'The Cad' was seen returning from Ireland with his family, showing that his personal circumstances had changed. The group, which included a Diana-esque Italian countess (inset) and a film director, had been shooting in the west of Ireland, and had been seen discussing the Netflix show, its historical accuracy, and its portrayal of the Royal Family in the bar at Shannon Airport.

Despite announcing a book in July last year, Omid Scobie insists that the turbulent Endgame was 'written at lightning speed' (despite announcing it in July last year)

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 6, 2023
Despite the author's apprehensions last year, Omid Scobie (left) has maintained that his tense book Endgame (inset) was 'written at lightning speed.' He also said he had to deal with 'insane translation times.' Scobie has been chastised for the Dutch translation of his latest book Endgame, which named King Charles and the Princess of Wales (pictured right with Queen Camilla and Prince William) as senior royals who raised questions about Prince Archie's skin tones. It has been argued that his UK book agent did not translate Endgame's draft book naming the two 'royal racists' into Dutch. However, a final proof of the 400-page tome was later sent, but it is likely that the translator had been working from a previous draft. The King is likely to consult Prince William this week to discuss the book's racial outrage after Buckingham Palace said it is 'considering all alternatives' when it comes to a response.

The real reason why Duke of Westminster dropped Harry and Meghan from his wedding guest list: after a tumultuous conversation over Camilla's invitation, he feared 'history repeating itself.'

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 4, 2023
RICHARD EDEN: When the Duke of Westminster made the 'incredibly sad' decision to exclude the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from his wedding next summer, he was aware of the royal controversy that complicated his sister's wedding in the same location. The Daily Mail reveals that Duke Hugh Grosvenor was'very aware' of the controversies surrounding Lady Tamara Grosvenor and Edward van Cutsem's wedding in 2004 and did not want anything similar at his own.

EPHRAIM HARDCASTLE: Nicholas Witchell of The Crown is hoping that Nicholas Witchell, the Royal Correspondent, does not discuss King Charles' name as the 'awful' guy

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 29, 2023
EPHRAIM HARDCASTLE HARDCASTLE (Reuters) HARDCASTLE Nicholas Witchell: Nicholas Witchell will be keeping his fingers crossed that King Charles' upcoming instalment of The Crown does not feature him as the "awful" guy. The as yet unveiled segment features skiing scenes from Charles' 2005 Klosters ski trip with William and Harry, when Witchell inquired about the then Prince of Wales' forthcoming nuptials to Camilla Parker Bowles. He said, 'Bloody people,' who is unaware that a microphone could pick up his screams to his sons.' I can't abide this guy. He is so bad, he really is.'

Season six will be divided into two parts, with the second section focusing on Camilla Parker Bowles' marriage with King Charles III, as well as Prince William and Kate Middleton's early romance.

When he went to receive his CBE, Crown writer Peter Morgan found Buckingham Palace 'even madder' than fiction

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 13, 2023
Peter Morgan, who spoke in California in advance of Netflix's sixth and final series of the show, said the costumes and protocol had seemed strange and alien. "I had to go to the Palace for a reason, but I didn't know anything about it," Morgan, whose father, a German Jew who fled the Nazis for the United Kingdom, said. 'It seems even madder than what we do! There were grown men with spurs, and everybody was dressed in a comedic costume and bowing.

75 on Tuesday - and the King will celebrate at a 'food bank'! How times have changed since his 21st-father gave him a gleaming Aston Martin

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 12, 2023
In a very different way to how he has commemorated his big day in the past, the King would celebrate his 75th birthday by visiting a surplus food distribution center. The King may also hold a small family dinner at Clarence House, but the deliberately low-key style of his schedule reveals how much his life has changed from flashy young Prince to modern king. And his centuries remind how much Britain has changed in his lifetime as well.
