Temporary workers have been recruited to maintain the dramatic storylines for the much-loved soaps due to the continuing writer's strike, but fans have been left unimpressed. Some viewers have taken to social media to condemn certain episodes as 'boring,' while others have complained that certain plotlines are 'insulting to loyal viewers'.' While the Writers Guild of America remains on strike, it was announced in July that GM, which is now in its 60th season, is using temporary writers.

Molly Lansing-Davis, the original actress of GM, is being recast for the second time, only months after the original actress Haley Pullos was charged with unlawful DUI. Brooke Anne Smith, 39, will now be in charge of the long-running ABC soap opera. Haley, a 25-year-old girl, was first given to actress Holiday Mia Kriegel after her arrest in May.
