On Monday, Line Of Duty supporters were put on alert as Adrian Dunbar slipped into character - sadly for them, his latest venture has nothing to do with the beloved BBC drama. While filming scenes for a forthcoming episode of Ridley, an ITV police procedural co-starring former Hollyoaks actress Bronagh Waugh, Bronagh Waugh appeared on set. Dunbar, 65, mingled with members of the production team while waiting for cameras to roll, dressed in Ripley's brown leather jacket and corduroy trousers.

Review of the Vera: According to CHRISTOPHER STEVENS, it's time to dine on the good stuff after the holiday TV leftovers

www.dailymail.co.uk, December 27, 2023
CHRISTOPHER STEVENS: The first thing about Christmas television is that you get the leftovers first. We will really enjoy the good stuff only after the scrags and scrapes of shows are over. Food follows the opposite rule. By now, there may be enough turkeys for a round of sandwiches, but otherwise, it's cold pigs in stale blankets and some odd vino that no one wins in a raffle. Toffee pennies are the only thing in the Quality Street box, and they're the only real remnants. Nature is always reminding us that it's almost time to detox. However, television schedules are also in reverse. For weeks we've been offered the bits no one cares about. . . End-of-year quizzes in 2021, as well as a look inside the door of a Christmas stocking factory, is a rerun of sorts.

Ridley's a low-key success, both refreshingly uncool and retro-paced

At the end of a hard day's graft busting at AC-12's headquarters, Kathryn Flett (pictured) says it's impossible to imagine Line Of Duty's Superintendent Ted Hastings popping into his local and easing the tension away. Richard Hawley, a classical (not necessarily primetime) singer-songwriter, is the product of his catalogue. Yet that's what Hastings' alter-ego (aka actor Adrian Dunbar) does in the first episode of ITV's new cop show Ridley, proving there's considerably more to his CV than an ability to catch bent coppers

Viewers in Ridley scream over the'slow start' and a'predictable' plot twist

SPOILER ALERT: Last night's broadcaster, Line Of Duty's Adrian Dunbar as an ex-Detective Inspector, received mixed feedback, with some re-constructing the storyline and others celebrating it as excellent Sunday-night viewing. The film is set in rural Todmorden, Yorkshire, as Ridley is brought back from retirement to work as a consultant in a complicated murder case. Alongside DI Carol Farman (pictured left with Ridley) (Bronagh Waugh), Ridley is charged with finding out who killed local sheep farmer Jesse Halpin (pictured right), who had been interviewed in connection with the abduction of three-year-old Zoe Lindsay 13 years ago. However, viewers may have guessed it right away in the last 15 minutes of the two hour story.

Superintendent Ted's got a new cop show on TV, according to CHRISTOPHER STEVENS of the weekend

CHRISTOPHER STEVENS: How many sleuths can you name with a passion for music? Morse and his opera, Holmes with his violin, Rebus and his obsession with classic rock, and Grantchester's jazz-loving Rev Sidney Chambers. And that does not include Michael Gambon, the original Singing Detective who played crime writer Philip Marlow in 1986. In Ridley, Adrian Dunbar, a pin-up for women who like their coppers gruff and grizzled, plays the role exactly. (ITV). He mused at a piano in an empty bar, singing The Mountains Of Mourne.

In his moody new film Line Of Duty, Adrian Dunbar plays a different sort of copper

As Line Of Duty's Ted Hastings, Adrian Dunbar (pictured) has carved out a spot for himself. The actor has been given the opportunity to play a different kind of copper. He will play the jazz loving retired cop Ridley in ITV's new crime drama, Ridley

Line Of Duty's Adrian Dunbar reveals his character in ITV's Ridley will be a singing detective

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 12, 2022
Adrian Dunbar has confirmed that his character in ITV's latest detective drama, Ridley, will have a musical bent, and was thrilled when producers agreed to his offer. As a way to deal with the death of his wife and daughter in a fire, Line Of Duty actor Alex Ridley suggested that he perform in a nightclub he owns as a way to cope. 'Ridley's on a journey of restitution after a tragedy,'' he told the Daily Mail, so there are aspects of his personality, such as his sense of humour, that we didn't see coming.'
