The Washington Commanders have walked back a tumultuous team statement made in reaction to the imminent disclosure of a pending lawsuit concerning the besieged NFL team. Attorney General Karl A. Racine of District Columbia announced a press conference on Thursday, where he plans to reveal information about the Commanders. The press conference's topic was not announced. In response to Racine's call later Wednesday, the team shifted the blame to the Attorney General's office for the shooting of Commanders running back Brian Robinson Jr., who survived the assault and has since returned to action. Moreover, the team attempted to refocus the public's attention away from Washington's violent crime rate. 'Although I know there are some brilliant people in that building, whoever is hiding behind this statement is not one of them,' Robinson's agent, Ryan Williams, has since condemned the team's first tweet on Twitter: 'While I know there are some outstanding humans in that building, not one of them.' Following Williams' tweet of support for DC police chief Robert J. Contee III, commander Jason Wright has since walked back the team's initial remark.
