Early life and education
Kilmeade was born in Massapequa, New York, in 1964. He is Marie Rose D'Andrea's second son after she married James Kilmeade Junior in 1960. Brian's father was born in 1931, the son of James Kilmeade Senior, a man born 1905 in Longford, Ireland, who immigrated to New York in 1925 and became a resident of the United States in 1930. Marie, Brian's mother, was born in 1934 in Ozone Park and raised in St. Albans, Queens.
Kilmeade graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1986 after graduating from Massapequa High School in 1982.

He and Dawn Kilmeade (née DeGaetano) are married and have three children: Brian, Kirstyn, and Kaitlyn.
Career
He began his career as a reporter on Channel One News, a national high school television news service. He then appeared as an anchor and host for KHSL-TV in Chico, California. On KLSD, an all-sports radio network, he co-hosted The Jim Brown Show. Kilmeade joined Jim Brown as part of the inaugural Ultimate Fighting Championships team in 1993, giving in-depth interviews. In 1994, he moved to a play-by-play role for UFC 2 and UFC 3.
Kilmeade was a freelance sports anchor for WVIT (NBC) in Hartford, Connecticut, beginning in 1997. He served as a sideline reporter for MSG's coverage of Major League Soccer, particularly for the MetroStars.
He later worked as a chief reporter and anchor for NewSport, a national sports network, where he hosted NewSport Journal, a daily newspaper newspaper broadcast for the national sports network. He also anchored Scoreboard Central, a live half-hour sports broadcast. He has ten years of experience as a stand-up comedian, according to his website biography.
