At his full state funeral, former Irish Prime Minister John Bruton, who paved the way for the Good Friday Agreement, was remembered as a 'humbling and unassuming' man. Mr Bruton, the taoiseach of the 'rainbow coalition' government from 1994 to 1997, died on Tuesday in hospital, surrounded by his family. Minister Michael D Higgins and Taoiseach Leo Varadkar were joined by ministers, TDs, and parliamentary ushers for the service at Saints Peter and Paul's Church in Mr Bruton's hometown of Dunboyne, Co Meath.
