Caleb Williams 'is officially named Chicago Bears' starting quarterback'

Caleb Williams will officially start under center for the Chicago Bears for the 2024 season. The No. 1 pick of the 2024 NFL Draft had always been expected to secure the starting spot ahead of Tyson Bagent or Brett Rypien but Matt Eberflus made it official Friday. The Bears wasted no time in locking in their starter with the decision reportedly being announced on the first day of on-field rookie workouts. The move allows Williams plenty of time to familiarize himself with Chicago's offensive setup ahead of Week 1 of the new NFL season.
Zach is BACK!Wilson of the New York Jets has been named as the start of New York's game against Houston on Sunday's game against Houston, despite rumors that the struggling QB is not aiming for a return to the top of the depth chart

Zach Wilson, the starting quarterback for the New York Jets, has been criticized again on the depth chart just days after reports announced that the struggling third-year signal caller was against returning to the top of the chart. In the team's new shuffle at the quarterback position, the Jets cut Tim Boyle after two starts and signed Brett Rypien off the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad on Tuesday. Although replacing benched Zach Wilson the previous two games, Boyle mainly failed. He was 41 of 63 for 327 yards and one touchdown, with three interceptions, including a Hail Mary that was returned 99 yards for a touchdown against Miami, and in two losses as the starter. The Jets (4-8) are mired in a five-game losing streak, and their offense has struggled to function without Aaron Rodgers' help since breaking his left Achilles tendon four snaps into his debut with New York in the season opener.

After just two weeks of trying, Tim Boyle's experiment in East Rutherford has come to an end. Boyle was suspended in the middle of the game after a poor showing against the Atlanta Falcons resulted in a 13-8 loss. Boyle has been cut and replaced on the roster by Brett Rypien, according to CBS' Josina Anderson.
