On Facebook, the radio legend's wife, NPR reporter Windsor Johnston, announced Edwards' death, writing: "It's with the heaviest of hearts to announce that Bob Edwards died peacefully on Saturday night." Susannah, Nora, and I were with him as he took his final breath.' Edwards worked with National Public Radio for 30 years, first co-hosting 'All Things Considered,' before leading 'Morning Edition' for 25 years. When it barred him from 'Morning Edition' in 2004, the station received significant backlash - the first year he was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame.
