As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle arrived for an Invictus Games 2023 One Year To Go function at Dusseldorf town hall on Tuesday, more than 500 Germans and Brits queued alongside metal barriers waving Union Jacks. As they attempted to usher the couple over for a quick snapshot and a chat, most seemed to be genuine followers as they donned masks of the Queen and royal regalia. Some people were attracted by the circus that follows the pair, with one young woman saying they were "rude to the Royal Family" but wanted to see them because they are "like soap actors." Bob Clark, a former serviceman, and his partner Lily, who were dressed for the occasion, were among the crowds. Clark wore an ermine robe, crown, and a Queen mask over his head. His wife clutched a bag commemorating Harry and Meghan's marriage, while his husband wore a Union Jack coat and hat. We are both huge supporters of the Queen and the royal family,' Bob said. It would be fantastic to see Harry and Meghan together.'
