We raided Harry’s House last night. The delightful harrystyles lit the place on fire. He was sensational…he has a deep connection with his audience. They love his music but really HIM. a gender reveal on stage, some warm banter, a ton of energy and really great songs. This old dude was blown away. Best part, my sweet Mary B had a blast in her birthday today and that’s what mattered. (My favorite song is also Mary’s: Little Freak). #harryshouse Posted by @billybush on Nov 12, 2022 04:44PM

Last Friday night, I got to take my neighbor and friend James McEachin, 92 years old, to see Zac Brown at the Hollywood Bowl. Zac’s team was thrilled to welcome James on stage for a salute to his service. He still has two bullets in his stomach from the Korean War. Purple Heart, Silver Star, great American. Thank you James and every man and woman whose worn the uniform for us. #veteransday #veterans #usa🇺🇸 Posted by @billybush on Nov 11, 2022 06:47PM

I am devastated. You may have known some of Douglas McGrath‘s work, cowriting Bullets Over Broadway, directing Emma Nicholas Nickleby and Born Yesterday. But when I was 14 years old and a struggling student in school, Doug was a freelance writer and to earn extra money he tutored some kids, because he was a brilliant Princeton grad. On the first day my mom said my new tutor was coming I went down the elevator onto 86th street and I walked up to the corner at York Avenue and I waited, analyzing the faces that were approaching me until I saw this happy 28 year old guy bouncing along… I knew it was Doug. I walked right up to him and said I can work with you. We became instant friends. He helped me with more than just my homework. He was a great mentor, listener and advisor. He was understanding, extremely funny and my whole family adored him. He used to leave the voicemail messages on our answering machine at home and they were hysterical. I loved him very much; we became lifelong friends. he left this world suddenly and just before I got to see his greatest work. He was doing his life‘s work off Broadway in a show, written and performed by him and directed by John Lithgow, called Everything Is Fine. How ironic a title… Everything is not fine right now. Praying so hard for his wife Jane and son Henry. RIPDMCGMBFILYTY (he knows). Posted by @billybush on Nov 5, 2022 04:00PM
