The Crown's sixth and final season has come to a dramatic conclusion this morning when the remaining five episodes were landed on Netflix. In the aftermath of Diana's tragic death, writer Peter Morgan from London has written a whole episode describing Prince William and King Charles' apparently tense friendship. What's more, viewers are also introduced to Kate Middleton as a student at St Andrews after she saw her late mother-in-law by complete chance on a shopping trip with Carole in London. In the meantime, the writers examined Princess Margaret's last years and provides flashbacks from her time in freedom with Queen Elizabeth to the end of WWII in 1945.

In the final episode of The Crown, Queen Elizabeth Blair is seen berating Tony Blair over the Iraq war as Claire Foy and Olivia Colman (pictured) reprise their roles to assist the monarch in deciding if she should abdicate the throne. This morning, Netflix announced the final six episodes of the hit series, which followed the late Queen's accession to King Charles' second marriage in 2005. The episode, titled 'Sleep, Dearie Sleep,' depicts a dramatic exchange between the late monarch and the former Labour Prime Minister, after crowds of protesters are seen outside Buckingham Palace clutching signs reading 'Bliar'. In one of their weekly meetings, Tony Blair, played by Bertie Carvel, begins discussing the public's outrage over Prince Harry's Nazi fancy dress costume.

The Crown risks row with Tony Blair by suggesting he lobbied the late Queen for a more public role for Princess Diana within weeks of being elected Prime Minister

Warning: SPOILERS. The former British Prime Minister (played by Doctor Foster's Bertie Carvel) discusses the possibility of the royal working alongside the government on a'more formal basis' in the first episode of the season. However, Queen Elizabeth II (Imelda Staunton) is quick to dismiss the proposal, saying, "As a divorced woman and no longer an HRH, Diana is now learning the difference between being in the Royal Family and out." However, the suggestion that the late Princess Diana (pictured right in July 1997) had the former Prime Minister's (pictured left with the late Queen) ear on the matter is highly unlikely, considering that he only served in the role for a few months before meeting the royal in Chequers in real life. After seeing Charles lobbying then Prime Minister John Major in a bizarre effort to compel his mother's abduction, last year, series five of the show suffered backlash. The meeting never took place, according to Sir John, who referred to the scene as a 'barrage of deceitful nonsense.'

My Fair Lady it ain't!But this daringly eccentric new take on George Bernard Shaw's classic play would have delighted its creator: PATRICK MARMION reviews Pygmalion

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 22, 2023
Relax, Rex 'Arrison, and Audrey 'Epburn are among George Bernard Shaw's 1914 play Pygmalion was the inspiration for the beloved musical My Fair Lady. However, this revival of the Old Vic, starring Bertie Carvel and Patsy Ferran as Henry Higgins and Eliza Doolittle, could have fans of the film choking on their cucumber sandwiches. Robert Jones' production at times seems to be inspired by German Expressionism and the mechanical acting of the silent screen. Shaw's play is overdue a makeover, but in truth, it's true. We can't expect venerable old classics like this to go unmolested for long stretches of time. We should be grateful that it has been tackled with vehement, a hint of the unhinged, and a lot of technical ability.

The hero's welcome on Kosovo's streets in 1999 (the authentic Tony Blair inset) was recreated for the Netflix royal drama The Crown (photos from the set left and right). The production turned Southend-on-Sea, Essex, into the streets of the wartorn Balkan state, where Bertie Carvel played Tony Blair - visiting the country, which now has many Toni's and Tonybler's named after him. It was Blair's first visit to Kosovo after the NATO air campaign against Yugoslavia, which compelled Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic to call off his crackdown against ethnic Albanians.

Who are the new cast members of the Crown season five?

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 9, 2022
On Wednesday, Season five of The Crown was announced, amid growing backlash over the 'insensitive' representation of the Royal Family during the Nineties. As the Netflix drama has spanned decades and landed on recent events that would be fresh in some viewers' minds, it has been chastised for sensationalizing events and including fictionalized scenes. With the exception of the previous two seasons of The Crown spanning three decades before the Nineties, the entire team has been recast for this series's 13-year time span from 1990 to 2003.

Here's How "The Crown" Re-Created Iconic Princess Diana Moments For Season 5

Elizabeth Debicki plays Princess Diana in "The Crown" season five, which was released on Netflix on 9 Nov. She's the fourth person to play "The People's Princess" in recent years, after Kristen Stewart in 2021's "Spencer" musical and Emma Corrin in Broadway's "Diana" musical, and Emma Corrin in the fourth season of "The Crown" premiered in 2020. Debicki's appearance as Diana comes just months after the princess's death's 25th birthday. Debicki struggled to control Diana's demeanor and voice. The show's costume department re-created some of her most popular looks for season five and also re-imagined outfits she may have wore during private moments.
