Premier League chief executive Richard Masters provides an updated timeline for the date of Manchester City's trial over alleged 115 financial rule-break charges

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 26, 2024
Richard Masters (pictured) has shed light on a potential timeline for the looming trial Manchester City will undergo after being charged by the Premier League for 115 breaches of the organisation's financial regulations.  Mail Sport previously reported that the trial was likely to get underway in late autumn of this year, nearly a year-and-a-half after news broke that the club had been charged in February 2023.  Manchester City will defend themselves against the allegations at a hearing overseen by an independent panel in arguably the biggest such case in the competition's history.

THE NOTEBOOK: Pep Guardiola can have Bruno Guimaraes for £100m, 'Hardest Geezer' Russ Cook is no celebrity fan and Man City's social media post backfires

KIERAN GILL AT THE AMEX STADIUM: Phil Foden struck twice as Manchester City stepped up their bid for a fourth Premier League crown in a row with a ruthless 4-0 victory at Brighton on Thursday. Kevin De Bruyne's superb diving header put City, missing top scorer Erling Haaland due to injury, ahead in the 17th minute. Foden scored his first -- and 50th league goal -- with a deflected free kick and Brighton defensive errors allowed Bernardo Silva to win the ball and set up Foden to sweep a shot into the bottom corner before halftime.

CHRIS SUTTON: It's a disgrace that English football's stars suffering from dementia are STILL waiting for help

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 25, 2024
COMMENT BY CHRIS SUTTON: The lack of support from English football authorities for the families of ex-players - like mine - who have suffered, or are suffering, with neurodegenerative diseases is a complete and utter disgrace. Action is needed now. But what the Football Association and the Professional Footballers' Association are doing is just kicking the can down the road. When I learned that the HEADING study, which has been supported by the FA, has been accused of a conflict of interest after its initial findings failed to find a strong link between heading a ball and the onset of diseases such as dementia, I was not in the least bit surprised.

Manchester City fan, 14, suffered 'devastating' 15ft fall onto concrete while celebrating Bernardo Silva's winning goal in FA Cup semi-final at Wembley

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 25, 2024
A 14-year-old Manchester City fan suffered a 'devastating' fall onto concrete while celebrating Bernardo Silva 's winning goal in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. Onur Yilmaz was in a third-tier stand when he lost his balance and fell over a railing on Saturday 20 April while making his way to the toilets. His mother Rachel claims he had stopped walking to celebrate the midfielder's winning goal in the 84th minute. Onur's 19-year-old brother Josh - and other fans - found him 'out cold' on the floor, covered in blood after falling 15 feet onto concrete. He was given medical attention before being taken to hospital.

Joe Cole tells Chelsea what to do next with Nicolas Jackson after the striker fluffed a catalogue of chances in FA Cup semi-final defeat against Man City

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 23, 2024
Joe Cole has given some advice to Chelsea on what to do next with Nicolas Jackson, after the 22-year-old striker squandered a glut of chances during the Blues' FA Cup semi-final defeat against Man City at Wembley on Saturday. Mauricio Pochettino's side controlled large spells of the closely-fought match and created a host of glorious opportunities in front of goal, before losing 1-0 in the wake of Bernardo Silva's late strike for City. Jackson was the primary culprit for fluffing his lines and received huge criticism from Chelsea fans both during and after the match - and was given just a 4/10 in Mail Sport's post-match player ratings.

VAR's biggest buzzkill moments: England denied in two semi-finals, epic Champions League ties decided by tiny margins and Arsenal's title hopes dealt big blow... as Coventry are denied one of FA Cup's great miracles

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 22, 2024
For Manchester United fans, it was the biggest of let-offs. For everybody else, it was yet more evidence VAR is sucking the joy out of football. Coventry City denied one of the greatest moments in FA Cup history - and one of the most miraculous comebacks of all-time - by mere inches. In the days before technology, Victor Torp's winner in the dying seconds of extra time would have been heralded as yet more magic from the world's greatest cup competition. It could well have also sealed Erik ten Hag's fate as United boss. But the ruthless accuracy of VAR and its offside lines stopped wild Coventry celebrations in their tracks and ultimately allowed United passage to the final.

Manchester City made 2/7 favourites with Sky Bet to win the FA Cup... with Man United 5/2 outsiders for the repeat of last season's final

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 21, 2024
Manchester City have been made 2/7 favourites with Sky Bet to win the FA Cup final with Pep Guardiola's side set to face Manchester United again. Bernardo Silva sent Man City into the final with the only goal in their 1-0 semi-final victory over Chelsea on Saturday. The holders remain on course to become the first English side to complete the domestic double in back-to-back seasons.

Casemiro follows in Bernardo Silva's footsteps with similarly awful penalty during FA Cup semi-final shootout against Coventry

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 21, 2024
Bernardo Silva took one of the worst penalties in recent times during Man City's defeat to Real Madrid on Wednesday and Casemiro produced a remarkably similar one against Coventry on Sunday. Man United blew a three-goal lead in the FA Cup semi-final but managed to make their way into the final by way of a penalty shootout. However, the shootout couldn't have got off to a worse start with Casemiro stepping up first and proceeding to see his tame penalty saved.

Can Jude Bellingham lead Real Madrid to El Clasico glory? The England star is 6/5 to score anytime... but which two Barcelona players are 15/2 to score the first goal at the Santiago Bernabeu?

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 21, 2024
The momentum is on Real Madrid's side as they go into this weekend's El Clasico against Barcelona at the Santiago Bernabeu.  Barcelona are eight points behind their rivals in the table and are out of Europe after they were thrashed 4-1 on home soil by Paris Saint-Germain, with the French side progressing to the semi-finals of the Champions League with a 6-4 aggregate win. A day later Real Madrid advanced to the last four after their tie with Manchester City went to penalties after a 4-4 aggregate score, with Andriy Lunin saving spot-kicks from Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic.

JACK GAUGHAN: Bernardo Silva earned SALVATION days after his Champions League penalty woe... when the Man City star eventually leaves, his farewell will be heartfelt and he'll depart a cult hero

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 21, 2024
JACK GAUGHAN: There have been more iconic moments in Bernardo Silva's time at Manchester City. The open-mouthed euphoria of scoring twice against Real Madrid last year tops the lot. For City supporters, how he clung onto a polystyrene cup of coffee during a guard of honour for Liverpool in an act of disrespect comes close. More iconic but then none more redemptive than Wembley. When he does eventually leave, those standing behind that goal will remember their beating heart thumping the badge on squeezing City through to another FA Cup final. Silva is one of those rarities: simultaneously both a sensational footballer and cult hero. He barely slept a wink on Wednesday night, Silva. And not just because of baby Carlota. Visions of Andriy Lunin gratefully catching his flat penalty, over and over, the defining image of City's shootout defeat by Real almost a year on from Silva's crowning night in blue. 'Thursday night I slept a bit better,' he said. The pain doesn't subside that quickly, although Saturday undoubtedly helped.

Thiago Silva's wife all but confirms the defender will leave Chelsea this summer after labelling FA Cup semi-final defeat by Man City his 'last dance'... with veteran in tears

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 21, 2024
The Blues were dealt late heartbreak after Bernardo Silva's winning goal at Wembley with his scrambled effort booking last season's Treble winners a spot in the final. Silva played the full 90 minutes in the pulsating showdown and was visibly emotional at full-time after missing out on the chance of lifting another trophy. Television cameras caught Silva in tears on the pitch, reigniting speculation that he would call time on his career at Stamford Bridge at the end of the season. His partner, Belle, has now dropped the biggest hint yet that his future lies away from the Premier League after posting a snap of herself on social media.

Pep Guardiola sends warning to broadcasters as he threatens protest at 'unacceptable' scheduling of Man City's FA Cup semi-final... after he accused BBC of risking health of his stars in stunning rant on live TV

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 20, 2024
JACK GAUGHAN AT WEMBLEY: Pep Guardiola launched into an extraordinary rant at the BBC after Manchester City kept alive their hopes of a Double at Wembley. Bernardo Silva's late winner against Chelsea saw the defending FA Cup champions squeeze into next month's final where they will face either rivals Manchester United or Coventry City. But Guardiola was incensed afterwards, taking aim at broadcasters and the authorities by claiming they are damaging the health of players and that he is powerless to force change.

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 20, 2024

Thiago Silva is seen in tears after FA Cup semi-final defeat by Man City... as Chelsea fans fume at one star for laughing in the background

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 20, 2024

Pep Guardiola launches into furious rant over scheduling of FA Cup semi-final live on BBC, claiming it is 'unacceptable' Man City had to play on Saturday and questioning how players 'survive' despite win over Chelsea

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 20, 2024
Pep Guardiola launched into a passionate rant about the FA Cup semi-final fixture scheduling after his side's victory over Chelsea on Saturday.  City booked themselves into the final of the competition after Bernardo Silva's late strike wrapped up the win for the Treble Winners at Wembley.  However, despite the victory, Guardiola still made it clear that he was livid over the fixture scheduling - having gone to penalties against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

Man City's double Double dream lives on - but they were given a huge helping hand by the Wizard of Waste in beating Chelsea to reach the FA Cup final, writes OLIVER HOLT

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 20, 2024
OLIVER HOLT AT WEMBLEY: The dream of the double Treble disappeared with defeat to Real Madrid in that penalty shoot-out at The Etihad on Wednesday night but the dream of the double Double lives on. In English football's era of the Manchester City Supremacy, it is a measure of their dominance that the prospect of such a feat has come to seem like an anti-climax. It should not be. City's consistency is remarkable. They were far from at their best at Wembley against a Chelsea side that had enough chances to beat them twice over but they found a way to win, as they so often do, and a late winner from Bernardo Silva earned them their place in the final at the end of next month against either Manchester United or Coventry City.

PLAYER RATINGS: Nicolas Jackson scores just 4/10 after missing huge chances for Chelsea - but which Man City star was the unlikely hero in FA Cup semi-final win?

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 20, 2024
KIERAN GILL AND JACK GAUGHAN AT WEMBLEY: Holders Manchester City beat Chelsea 1-0 with a late Bernardo Silva goal on Saturday to reach the FA Cup final. Silva sidefooted the ball home in the 84th minute after Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic parried a shot from former Blues midfielder Kevin De Bruyne. Both keepers were busy with De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish missing chances for City, while Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer and Noni Madueke had efforts saved by Stefan Ortega, smothered by the City defence or lost to wayward shots.

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 19, 2024
Three Manchester City players have been included in Sofascore's best XI of the Champions League quarter-finals, despite Pep Guardiola's men being eliminated on penalties by Real Madrid. In a pulsating tie, Mateo Kovacic and Bernardo Silva agonisingly missed their spot-kicks to put Real Madrid through to the semi-finals for a fourth consecutive season with a 4-3 victory on penalties. Arsenal were knocked out in Germany in Wednesday night's other tie, as a Joshua Kimmich bullet header secured Bayern Munich a 3-2 aggregate victory over the Gunners.

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 19, 2024
Real Madrid are favourites to win the Champions League after reigning champions Manchester City, and strong contenders Arsenal, were both knocked out of the competition on Wednesday night.  Carlo Ancelotti's side prevailed following a penalty shootout at the Etihad Stadium, in which Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic saw their penalties saved.   Bayern Munich meanwhile got the better of Arsenal, after Joshua Kimmich's 63rd minute header was enough to send the Bundesliga giants through after a 3-2 aggregate victory.

Fans are left in stitches as Sergio Aguero is put through the wringer watching Manchester City's penalty shootout defeat to Real Madrid and call the footage 'absolute gold'

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 18, 2024
Sergio Aguero's intense reaction to Manchester City's penalty shootout defeat to Real Madrid left fans in stitches with the Argentine put through the wringer while watching his old side in the Champions League. The champions of Europe were dethroned at the Etihad as Real Madrid battled to a 1-1 draw before winning via spot-kicks - after Rodrygo's opener was cancelled out by Kevin De Bruyne in regular time. But with the aggregate score level at 4-4 and no winner coming in extra time, the game went to penalties, which Madrid won after Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic both saw their efforts saved by Andriy Lunin - despite Luka Modric missing his kick early on.

Secrets of Real Madrid's penalty shoot-out win REVEALED: Identifying THREE Man City players who could go down the middle, the two stars who opted out of spot-kicks - for an unusual reason - and Chelsea flop's influence

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 18, 2024
The secrets of Real Madrid's penalty shoot-out win over Manchester City have been revealed as Pep Guardiola's hopes of a double Treble were dashed. Goalkeeper Andriy Lunin saved spot-kicks from Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic early in the shoot-out before Antonio Rudiger stepped up to put the Spaniards through. It followed a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes of largely City domination, with Kevin De Bruyne cancelling out Rodrygo's early opener for Real.

Man City's Double Treble quest could still disintegrate into nothing after penalty heartbreak against Real... Pep Guardiola must rally his troops - but a crucial week has just got bigger, writes JACK GAUGHAN

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 18, 2024
JACK GAUGHAN AT THE ETIHAD: Maybe not prophetic - not at this stage, anyway - but Bernardo Silva did fire a warning earlier in the week. A warning of what lay around the corner. A warning that a potential Treble could quickly disintegrate into nothing. Pep Guardiola has been telling his players recently to just focus on extending the season by one more week. Each week, one more week.  After the thrilling 3-3 draw in the Bernabeu, and then a couple of results wildly swinging the Premier League title race in Manchester City's favour, talking about the possibility of winning it all again was certainly justified.

Footage shows Real Madrid star Antonio Rudiger telling Andriy Lunin where to dive before vital penalty save in Champions League win against Manchester City... and did Kepa help  teammate call Bernardo Silva's bluff?

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 18, 2024
Antonio Rudiger appeared to tell Andriy Lunin which way Mateo Kovacic would send his penalty before the goalkeeper made a vital save to help Real Madrid beat Manchester City on Wednesday night. Footage shows Rudiger frantically pointing to his left - the goalkeeper's right - in the moments before his former Chelsea teammate took his spot kick. Lunin obliged, diving low to his right to keep out Kovacic's effort. That proved to be the difference as the 14-time European champions reached the semifinals after Wednesday's second leg ended 1-1 over 120 minutes.
