Officer, Michael Jensen, 29, and Sheriff's Deputy Michael Hoosock, 37, were killed in a gunfire exchange Sunday evening shortly after 8pm in Liverpool, about six miles north of Syracuse. They were taken to the hospital, where nurses and an EMT became sick, and the Emergency Room was closed for two hours to prevent exposure. The sixth floor of the Brighton apartments had been evacuated for a brief period of time while a HAZMAT team investigated and took samples.
