Mixed martial arts career
Rawlings began her mixed martial arts journey in Launceston, Tasmania, in 2010 before relocating to Brisbane, Australia, to expand her opportunities and expertise in early 2011. Rawlings made her professional MMA debut at BRACE 12 in Hobart, Tasmania, on October 15, 2011. In her debut against Rhiannon Thompson, Rawlings defeated her at bantamweight. Rawlings lost her first fight by a highlight reel head kick knockout in what was dubbed "fight of the night" by the promotion.
Rawlings won consecutive submission victories over Sarah Morrison (at BRACE 14) and Daniela Marjanovic (at Australian Fighting Championship 3), bouncing back and clearly rallying within the Australian MMA circuit for more fighting opportunities in her suited weight class. Rawlings defeated Rachel Sheridan and Christina Tatnell in 2012, bringing them to a four-fight winning streak. In late 2012, a streak of notable Australian opponents for Rawlings drew the attention of North America's Invicta Fighting Championships.
Rawlings agreed to compete in their strawweight division in November 2012, which is regarded as the best all-women's league in the world. She had been supposed to face Joanne Calderwood on Invicta FC 4: Esparza vs. Gadelha on January 5th, 2013, but her squad was forced to forfeit a main match against Carla Esparza due to Cláudia Gadelha's injury.
