Painter and graffiti artist who is best known for his San Francisco art scene. Twist, Ray Fong, Bernon Vernon, and others are among his monikers. His work is often seen on the sides of buildings and other public spaces around San Francisco, but it can also be seen in a variety of gallery spaces.

Before Fame

In 1991, he graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute with a focus on painting and printmaking. He began as a street artist, creating murals around San Francisco's city. He was included in the Venice Biennale in 2001 after having multiple group and solo shows.

Trivia

He has produced shoes for Adidas and HUF. He is also known for spray painting "Smash the State" on the walls of San Francisco Supervisor Matt Gonzales' City Hall office.

Family Life

He was born and raised in San Francisco, California. He married Margaret Kilgallen, a Lowbrow activist artist, and they had a child named Asha. Margaret died of cancer in 2001.
