A collection of antique dolls, amassed by a couple over 75 years, has sold for £632,000 at auction, with some fetching £15,000 on their own. Austin Smith and his late partner Margaret Harkins filled their property near Bath, Somerset, with more than 1,000 dolls from a variety of time periods, including a number dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The first item in the collection, which has been described as the 'largest and most valuable seen for 25 years', was a broken doll from a house contents sale in the West Country.

Children under the age of 18 don't have the 'agency' to get a tattoo, according to Dr. Cora Breuner, a Seattle Children's Hospital professor and pediatrician. Breuner was reporting on a case involving a Crystal Thomas, a New York mother who was arrested after allowing her 10-year-old son to get a tattoo. Breuner also argued for'gender affirming' therapy despite her reservations about her children's potential to do something as 'permanent' as a tattoo. Breuner signed a statement by the American Academy of Pediatrics in 2018 condemning 'not reversible' gender-affirming drugs for children. The claim called for a ban on treatment in adolescents, hormonal therapy, and even gender-affirming surgical procedures.
