Ásgeir Trausti Einarsson (Icelandic pronunciation: ​[ˈauːsceir̥ ˈtʰrœistɪ ˈeiːnar̥sɔn]; born 1 July 1992) is an Icelandic singer-songwriter and musician. In his Icelandic releases, he was credited as Ásgeir Trausti. In 2013, he started using the mononym Ásgeir as his recording name. He performs with his own band, the Ásgeir Trausti Band. He also plays guitar in the Icelandic band The Lovely Lion.

In 2012, sgeir's debut album D'r daugn was released. On the Tónlist, the lead single, "Sumargestur," made it to number two, an unofficial but highly quoted Icelandic Singles Chart, (six weeks on Tónlist), and the album's title song "Dr gn" (three weeks at #1).

In collaboration with Blaz Roca, he had a Christmas hit with his song "Hvtir skór" from him. From December 2012 to January 2013, the single remained at the top of the Icelandic Singles Chart for nine weeks in a row.

On January 27, 2014, an English-language version of the In the Silence was planned for worldwide release, but it was not announced on iTunes until October 28. John Grant, an American singer, assisted with the translation of the lyrics and re-production of the English language album. The album has already charted in Belgium and the Netherlands based on online sales.

"King and Cross," the debut single from the prospective album, was released on August 13, 2013 by sgeir, with John Grant appearing in the single premiere. In France, the sequel to "Going Home" charted. "Torrent," an English-language translation of "Nfalli regn," was the main release that coincided with the album's debut.

He released the single "Youth" from his third album Bury the Moon's, which was released on February 7, 2020 on One Little Indian Records in 2019. It was the artist's first double album when he also released Bury the Moon's Icelandic counterpart, Sátt, on the same day.

He released a 4-track EP in 2021 titled The Sky Is Painted Gray Today on September 3. Time On My Hands, his fourth studio album, was announced in 2022, and it will be released on October 28. On July 14, it was preceded by the first single "Snowblind" single.
