Arthur William Savage (May 13, 1857 – September 22, 1938) was a businessman, narrator, and explorer.
He is best known for inventing the Savage Model 99 lever-action rifle, which has been in production for more than a hundred years, and establishing Savage Arms.

Early life
He was born in Kingston, Jamaica, British West Indies. His father, who was a West Indies special commissioner, was charged with the establishment of a slave education system that was freed in 1834.
