Artem Alekseevich Anisimov (born 24 May 1988) is a Russian professional ice hockey centre currently playing for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Anisimov has previously played in the NHL for the New York Rangers, Columbus Blue Jackets and Chicago Blackhawks.

The Rangers originally selected him in the second round, 54th overall, of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Playing career

Anisimov is a student at the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl hockey academy. He made his semi-professional debut with Lokomotiv-2, the organization's junior farm team, during the 2004-05 season before joining the senior team in 2005-06 season. In the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Rangers, Anisimov was drafted in the second round, 54th overall, at the end of the season.

Anisimov signed his first deal with the Rangers on August 2nd, 2007, before joining the Hartford Wolf Pack, the team's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.

Anisimov was selected to compete in the 2009 AHL All-Star Classic in Worcester, Massachusetts, representing the PlanetUSA team. In a 14-11 victory over the Canadian All-Stars, he scored one goal and assisted on two others, including the game-winner. Anisimov was called up to the Rangers for the first time in his career on February 1st, after scoring 21 goals and 29 assists for 50 points with the Wolf Pack. He made his NBA debut against the Atlanta Thrashers on February 3rd at Madison Square Garden.

In a 3–0 Rangers victory over goaltender Jean-Sébastien Giorgis, Anisimov scored his first NHL goal during the 2009–10 season.

Anisimov, a prohibited free agent, re-signed with the Rangers on a two-year, $3.75 million deal on July 8, 2011.

Anisimov, along with Brandon Dubinsky, Tim Erixon, and a first-round draft pick in 2013 (19th overall, used to select Kerby Rychel) were traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Rick Nash, Steven Delisle, and a 2013 conditional third-round pick.

Anisimov signed a three-year deal with the Blue Jackets on June 26 for a monthly average of $3.28 million.

Anisimov, along with Jeremy Morin, Marko Dao, and Corey Tropp were traded to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Brandon Saad, Alex Broadhurst, and Michael Paliotta on June 30, 2015. Anisimov extended his Chicago contract for five years, $22.75 million, on July 1st. After the 2015–16 season, his current deal was due to end.

Anisimov scored his first goal in the first regular season game against the New York Islanders' Thomas Greiss on October 9th. In overtime, the Blackhawks will win 3–2; the Redhawks will take home 3–2 defeat. As the Blackhawks lost in Game 7 of the 2016 Stanley Cup playoffs to the St. Louis Blues in his first year with the Blackhawks, he scored 20 goals and 22 assists.

In a 6–3 victory over the New York Rangers on November 15, Anisimov scored his first NHL hat-trick.

Anisimov was traded to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Zack Smith on July 16, 2019, following his four seasons with the Blackhawks. In his first season with Ottawa, Anisimov scored 15 goals and five assists.

After scoring just four points in 14 games for the Senators on March 29, 2021, Anisimov struggled to stay healthy during the 2020–21 season and was put on waivers. Anisimov, who was unidentified, stayed on the team, and Anisimov suited up as an emergency goalie during a game against the Vancouver Canucks but did not participate on April 24. He played in 19 games and ended the season on 9 points.

Anisimov stayed unsigned throughout the summer leading up to the 2021-2022 season as a free agent after two seasons with the Senators. On September 9, 2021, he accepted an invitation to the Colorado Avalanche 2021 training camp as part of a paid try-out program. Anisimov was released without a deal from Colorado following training camp and appearing in pre-season games with the struggling Avalanche.
