Early life
Ari Koivunen was born in Kouvola on June 7th and showed an early interest in music. He won the Finnish Karaoke Championships in 2005 and was third in the Karaoke World Championships the same year. In 2007, he made his breakthrough in winning the Finnish "Idols" competition. Unlike usual pop music that dominated the show, he decided to perform mainly metal and rock songs in the competition.
Career
Ari Koivunen's debut album, Fuel for the Fire, was announced on May 30, 2007, but the album had already been released for download on May 21. Janne Joutsenniemi (SubUrban Tribe, Stone), Jarkko Ahola (Tetrasbetoni), Marko Ahola (Nightwish, Tarot), and others. The "Ari Koivunen" band was formed in spring 2007, mainly from people Ari had known for a long time. In May 2007, the pair's first concert together took place. The band appeared over 100 gigs in the first year.

Show Your Colors (2009)
Ari is the lead singer on the metal band Amoral, who released them on November 25th. On May 6, 2009, he made his vocal debut with Amoral on the studio album Show Your Colors. The album is the fourth official release in Amoral's history, but it was the first one with Ari Koivunen as the lead vocalist. "Show Your Colors" made it to No. 1 on Finland's chart, placing it at No. 1 on the list. In the first week, 19 people were in the first week. Year of the Suckerpunch and Gave Up Easy are two singles from the album.
Beneath (2011–2012)
Beneath with Ari, Amoral's second album, was released on October 26th. The Japan edition was released on October 19, 2011. The first single was "Same Difference"; the second single and first video was "Silhouette." Silhouette has electric and acoustic versions, of which the acoustic one is the original. From the punk rock oriented track "Wrapped in Barbwire," which pays homage to Guns N' Roses film "Garden of Eden," the second video was produced. Beneath was announced in the United States via The End Records and in Mexico on February 14, 2012, the first day of the month. Via Fono Records, it was released in Russia on February 27, 2012. The album was ranked as the fourth best domestic metal album at the Finnish Metal Awards 2011 and Ari as the fourth best vocalist.
Fallen Leaves & Dead Sparrows (2014)
Fallen Leaves & Dead Sparrows, Amoral's sixth album, and third with Ari, was released in Finland on February 14th, 2014, and the world is a digital world. On March 14, the album was released in Europe. Ben Varon's album was produced. Ari's vocals were produced by Marko Hietala. On Amoral's albums, the music is more modern than ever, and it has a more metallic feel, as opposed to their two previous albums. Metal magazines and webzines around Finland, Europe, and the United States have mostly praised the album. The band has been praised for their musical and vocal abilities, as well as their freedom of expressive music. "Fallen Leaves & Dead Sparrows" became Finland's top-ranked No. 3 on the charts. 18 people were on the charts for two weeks in the first week and two weeks. In March 2014, Blueprints' first video was released. Prolong A Stay, the second video on Prolong A Staying was released on August 29, 2014. The Cure cover fire in January 2015 was on display in Amoral.
In Sequence (2016)
Amoral's seventh album In Sequence, which will be available in the United States and in Japan, on February 15, 2016. The album maintains the progressive metal style of "Fallen Leaves & Dead sparrows" but it is heavier. In addition to the six members, there are also some quest musicians on the album, including Teho Majamäki, Indica singer Jonsu, and Acyl's Amine Benotman. Touring with Amoral
Ari Koivunen has performed with Amoral in Finland and Europe from 2009 to 2010. In spring 2012, Ari debuted with Amoral at a SXSW show and in China. On the same tour, the band appeared in Japan. In autumn 2012, Ari was touring Europe with Amoral, when Amoral sponsored Ensiferum at the "Bearers of the Swords 2012" tour. In April-May 2013, the band appeared at the Pulp Summer Slam Festival in the Philippines and at the Peking and Shanghai Midi Festivals in China. With a crowd of ten thousand people, the Peking festival was the biggest in the band's history. In November 2014, the Swedish metal band Dark Tranquillity appeared in Europe again.
In spring 2016, the band appeared on In Sequence Tour in Finland. Ari Koivunen did not appear on the band's "Old School Tour" in Finland in fall 2016, as the band only performed the three first albums with original singer Niko Kalliojärvi. Ari's last appearance in Amoral took place on January 5th, 2017 at the final show of Amoral in Helsinki, Finland.
Disbandment
The band revealed on July 27th that they would disband in 2017 after all of the current members, "It is with heavy hearts that we've announced that we have decided to disband Amoral." This wasn't a straightforward decision, considering that Ben and Juhana have been a significant part of our lives for at least 19 years. ), But, it seemed that it was time. The band has been running at half speed due to constant shifting schedules and a fading passion in touring by some of us. Amoral is not a "half-speed" band. It's either way or nothing. "And, to be honest, the thought of starting something new after all this time has become very appealing."
Ari has appeared solo and duo shows with some of his former bandmates, Erkka Korhonen and Luca Gargano, in addition to Amoral.
Ari has performed at Lavatory (Heavy Christmas) in Finland each year since 2007 (except 2017 for vocal cord disease) with a group of well-known Finnish metal vocalists. They perform classic and modern Christmas songs in a heavy rock/metal style. Since being mainly in clubs, the tour has been played in big concert halls from 2013 to date. Ari sings in four Heavy Christmas albums: "Raskasta Joulu" (2014), "Reskasta Joulu" (2015), "Raskasta joulu joulu" (2014), "Raskasta joulu" (2015), "Repesesti joulua IV" (2014), "Raskasta joulu" (2015), and "Raskasta joulua IV" (2004). In Finland, the two first albums have gone Platinum (over 20,000 units). In the second album "The First Noel" and the acoustic album "Kun joulu on"), Ari sings a traditional Finnish Christmas song Arkihuolesi hehuo heitä, and in the fourth album "Kun joulu on". Ari formed Powerless Trio in 2017 alongside Marko Hietala and JP Leppluoto. In January and February 2018, they appeared in concert halls in Finland. Ari also plays drums in addition to singing. The trio performs their own favorite classic metal and rock covers, as well as entertaining the audience by sharing personal tales relating to the songs.
